Lias Andersson?

Eklund’s puck skills and playmaking are much better, he’s a better overall skater, and Eklund is more of a winger compared to Andersson whose a true center. The only reason Andersson might have to move off center is if his skating doesn’t allow him to play the middle.

I didn’t think they were similar style. I haven’t seen him though and I always appreciate your analysis. I was more asking if it’s another case of a player who likely won’t live up to their SHL production?

Pretty much turns the swedish WJC team into a one line team offensively.

Would have been great to see him at WJC. Tough break. Still think Sweden has a good team but offensively they lose a lot of edge of course.

An SHL player going to the WJC would miss 10 games this year. Would have been fun to see what he could do there but it's not the end of the world.

I think he is already good enough to play with Tre Kronor, the big boys. Might even take a spot later in WC that will be played in May.

Is he related to the shitty Eklund that creates bogus rumors and somehow has a prefix on the Trade section? That Eklund?
Hah, FWIW, that guy’s name isn’t actually Eklund, it’s Dwayne Klessel. He just uses an alias so he can pretend to be some anonymous “insider”. Dwayne Klessel is clearly just some dude with no connections making up lies on his blog to dupe people out of subscription $$$, while “Eklund” is a mysterious, anonymous writer who you could believe has real connections.

How does he compare to Anton Lundell ?
Very different players. Similarities would be that they’re both very high IQ forwards, who get criticized for lacking that “wow” speed, but are solid skaters regardless.

Lundell is big, strong, rock solid defensively, and has a great shot. But not very elusive or flashy. Often compared to Mikko Koivu. Eklund also plays a pretty mature/pro-style game for his age, but he’s a bit undersized, more elusive/shifty, has a good shot but not Lundell level. Stylistically he’s more similar to Backstrom or William Nylander than Mikko Koivu.

william eklund is gritty and physical, so not really similiar to backstrom and nylander.
