the thing is, Nash getting hurt was just really bad luck. They were talking an extension when he decided to just sit out the season (for now), so if not for his concussion issues there's a real good chance he'd have been here longer than 1 post-season.I'm not against moving prospects.
I'm against moving out a bunch of guys for nothing in the end.
Nash got hurt, Nash didn't re-sign.
Much rather even overpay for a guy that's in the plans for beyond 1 post season than pay for rentals. With the way this team has been drafting, draft picks should be gold at this point.
I feel pretty good about the future of LD with Zboril and Vaakanainen. Losing Chara will be big but we’re losing 41+ year old Chara, not 2011 Chara. If the team was still drafting defensemen like 2008-2014 I’d be worried. And we won't? Pretty sure Chara and maybe even Krug will be gone in 24 months. Large step back

Trading for Panarin is a high risk, maybe high reward move. I definitely get it, I just like who they have on wing now. The trade deadline would be the time to make the trade imo, you’d know what you have in some of the prospects and what you need going forward. No matter how you slice it we're still potentially losing first pair defender and a 2nd pair 60 point defender. I won't blame people for wanting to win now cause we have a small window at the moment. There might be a window in 3 years too, but Bergeron and everyone else will be that much older. I also think this team could improve from within enough to win the conference, but adding a guy like Panarin would make them favorites and how could you not like that.
What we employ is a neutered version of the Pittsburgh system.
112 points and loaded loaded loaded all over the place 24 and under
I been saying for 3 years they win the Cup in 2020 not sure how that’s a large step backAnd we won't? Pretty sure Chara and maybe even Krug will be gone in 24 months. Large step back
I wasn’t bad luck it was a cross ice head shot by Cedric the d bag in a game Tampa was getting their balls kicked inthe thing is, Nash getting hurt was just really bad luck. I'm curious what your 2020 cup winning lineup looks likeI been saying for 3 years they win the Cup in 2020 not sure how that’s a large step back
Good. I feel better now....I been saying for 3 years they win the Cup in 2020 not sure how that’s a large step back
You want to kill an hour go read last summer and I crushed the 2017-18 season and got a lot of sarcasticGood. I feel better now....
bad luck for sweeney because he'll never hear the end of trading all those assets for "nothing"I wasn’t bad luck it was a cross ice head shot by Cedric the d bag in a game Tampa was getting their balls kicked in
What goes around comes around - a Universal law of life and would not be surprised if Paquette own career ends due to a bad concussion

Yzerman bought out Matt Carle and was getting hammered for 6/35 in Callahan and it earned him a Fire Yzerman Thread on HF Tampa Boards two summers agobad luck for sweeney because he'll never hear the end of trading all those assets for "nothing"
He's actually posted it here a few times. I don't have the time to find it, but I think you'd go back a year or so ago and you'll find it.I'm curious what your 2020 cup winning lineup looks like
I don't disagree. It's bad luck on our part. But we did give up a bunch of assets for what more or less resulted in a few months of Nash. Bruins still employ the Julien collapsing D system in their own zone. Moore said it himself just recently, coming from a man-to-man swarming system in NJ, same type of system as used by Pittsburgh.
But nice try.

Obviously they can't predict the future, BUT considering we gave up a bunch and have nothing to show for it, I think he should continue to make long term moves instead of short sighted ones.
Not to mention had Rick Nash not gotten injured, it’s fair to assume he helps that Krejci line late last season/ playoffsA bunch doesn't mean quality.
Spooner - he's a 40-50 points streak winger that doesn't play defense. He wants to be a center, but just isn't good enough to play center. With how long it took them to sign him and for only 2 years, I don't think they view him as part of the core of future
Lindgren - Still an unknown at this point. Showed some good stuff for Hartford in 10 games last year, but he's no stud d-man
2018 1st (Bernard-Docker) - Starting his freshman year at North Dakota, but again is a huge unknown. At minimum you figure he's 2-3 years away from even sign a contract.
Beleskey - Who knows if he even makes the NHL club at this point.
I mean all in all, Boston have up a ton of maybe's to acquire a guy that helped solidify the top 6 of your team. As soon as Nash joined the team, Krejci and DeBrusk saw their P/GP improve and had he not gotten hurt. The only asset that you can argue that will help you win now is Spooner and honestly he's to streaky of a player.
I agree, Yzerman is doing a great job...He is "going for it"Yzerman bought out Matt Carle and was getting hammered for 6/35 in Callahan and it earned him a Fire Yzerman Thread on HF Tampa Boards two summers ago
I think the people that actually understand the game know he’s doing a great job
198 passed on Brady
Or you can go back and look for it in the Twighlight Zone........He's actually posted it here a few times. I don't have the time to find it, but I think you'd go back a year or so ago and you'll find it.
