Grizz out, Moore in so the deal doesn’t get killed by a Grizz injury.

Wouldn’t be surprised if (unfortunately) 48 has played his last game in Black N Gold.

The theory being that we will bench our player but they don't bench Schenn?

It doesn't seem all that unfair given Schenn's importance to them and the fact Moore could use the game and isn't far off from Gryz, but then again, this could just be that - simple Bruins rotation and nothing more.

I'm with you. Toronto needs defense AND help in goal. Freddie ain't the man if you ask me. That said, I hope like hell they don't try a Nylander+ for Pietrangelo. That could have legs and, as you say, that would make them dangerous.
Anderson shows flashes of elite goaltending, then goes absolutely missing for a game or two. It's kind of odd, honestly.

ECL? Please.

I already came up with PCK (Priveleged College Kid) Line last night.

Honestly not sure where the Entitled part is coming from? Heinen and JFK both spent a year the AHL.

Agree that a player like Schenn will cost. Pass on Vanek, Williams, and Ferland (if the asking price rumors are accurate).
Was trying to think of the name you coined and that was what I came up with, like yours much more. I will use it going forward. My thanks.

I still look at Schenn as a piece, they will need to add another forward, while not thrilled with Williams or Vanek they may not be awful short term, cheap to acquire players. They are by no means the answer to a deep playoff run. I would give up a lot for Ferland but if Carolina's asking price and what he is looking for next year are true I would lean towards passing and try for Simmonds knowing full well he is not what he was in the past but he is a better option then what they have now to play on the second line. A Recchi like resurrection is a possibility. I would not go more than 3 years if he wants to stay as a free agent.

yeah given that none of the forwards are sitting it seems likely to me they planned to rotate Grizz & Moore in the back to back all along.

Outside of him sustaining an injury last night, I can't see why he's being scratched outside of a deal being in place. I would've sat Chara, Krug and may be even McAvoy before him after last nights performance.

Just my two cents. Im not the coach.

I mean who knows but Gryz has been playing very well. I don't think he is the one who would sit to bring Moore in. Could just be maintenance/fresh legs but definitely could be more.

Personally I think they have a main structure of a deal worked out and don't want him to get injured. Probably with the Blues. Might just hop on the plane back with them.

I've always had the fear/thought/expectation, whatever you want to call it that it's going to be between Moore& Grzelcyk who's going to sit when they have a healthy defense.

They won't keep Moore sitting forever and it's a backtoback where they lost last night.

Would like to see a trade happen because this team needs one, but is this more hoping than reality.

Maybe it's Sweeney's way of telling Army "look, you've delayed and delayed, you've seen what Gryz can do. We aren't trading him because we
don't like him but that we've got great replacements waiting" ? The other thing is to protect Gryz from someone on the Blues intentionally injuring him
to keep the trade from going down? I obviously don't know but maybe it needs to come to a head and Donnie is tired of the apparent back and forth and the toll it's taking on his players? As an old horse trader who has been thru a bunch of small and medium deals, I have only so much patience for tire kickers.
No, I don't have a degree from Harvard but I do have a lot of patience business-wise.
This thing needs to be put to bed, one way or the other.

S*** or get off the pot!

They could just as easily swap Moore for Miller, seeing as Moore and Grz have played together before.

Cehlarik, Heinen, and JFK still in then. interesting.

man if Sweeney could pull off this trade with Grizz being the only roster player going out that would be pretty impressive.
So Grzelcyk, Vaak and a 1st! ;)

Yeah, if it’s Grzelcyk and a pick I’ll be happy. If JFK is in the deal I’ll be happy too.

Brayden Schenn made these comments on Monday:

”Guys are playing hard right now and (Berube) obviously commands a lot when it comes to the work ethic side of the game,” Schenn said Monday in Washington. ”We’ve had high expectations right from the beginning, we didn’t meet them, then there’s tons of rumors about everyone. That’s kind of how it goes when you’re not winning and you’re not meeting expectations.

”Now we’re in a position – closer, anyways – to make a playoff push, and we feel like we can in this locker room. Now it’s up to us to try and save ourselves, each other, from getting traded and staying here together.”

Berube's Blues playing well enough to make run at playoffs

His name has heavily been linked to STL as part of a deal for Schenn, it could be precautionary so he doesn't get hurt (if the deal doesn't happen before the game)

It wont happen before. The players would have to be scratch for the game after the trade. Or you would have to make them fighter each other in Jerseys they are not accustomed to. Thats brutal.
Imagine getting traded before a game and having to play your own team.

Some of you are ridiculous with the rumors. You should have hair dryers on your heads.

I think they are just getting guys rest on a back to back. But we’ll see.

I thought Gryzlek missed some defensive assignments last night, one which lead directly to a goal. He wasn’t awful. But he’s the easy choice on the left side to sit a game for Moore. Maybe next game Gryzlek slots back in and Moore slides over to Millers spot. I think Miller needs a seat upstairs for a few games

I'm with you, I have no idea what any of this means. It could indeed be Sweeney playing games by suggesting to Armstrong that maybe there are other teams he's close on with a deal involving Gryz. Could be regular rotation issues -- Moore isn't/shouldn't sit for long. Who knows.

However on the bolded, I think that one might be stretching it a bit.

Of course he is, he’s the only RW that’s looked good on Krejci’s line all year. Ship him out before that line gets too good.
I would trade any of Heinen, JFK, Donato or Bjork before Cehlarik and that is not because of last night's game, I really liked his game first time he was up with Krejci and Pasta and could not understand not calling him up before now.
