I bet Prust is so happy now too. He can play the grit game he likes and he's on a line with two very offensive-minded players. It's the perfect role for Prust, and it works out well for the two youngins'

He's playing the role of John Ferguson. Playing with and protecting top players on his line... I'm sure Prust loves this. It's much better than staged fighting against the other team's enforcer.

sounds like a terrible porn movie :whaaa?:

Yeah good point. Didn't think that one through.

On topic. I think most people after Washingtons game, fell into "he has to stay" side. Yesterday just put the nail in the coffin. I believe there was nothing he would learn in Sarnia that he couldnt learn (and learn more) in the NHL. 48 games is actually BEST for him, since he gets to play right off the bat with high tempo hockey. 82 game season, I'm not sure he stays.

Galchenyuk should be living with Geoff Molson!

Oh wait, it's weird to live with owners isn't it! haa

side note: Chuckie has a ridiculous amount of skill and combined with his work ethic it's hard to think he won't turn out to be a superstar.

have you ever butted heads with a Russian MOM?
you will lose or you will die.

Seriously. The kid already looks like his parents raised him real well. I don't see how a team-mate will be more of an authority figure over his own mom.

Crosby/Lemieux is not a comparison. Crosby was literally property of Lemieux

Habs should bring the father to Montreal. Buy his Sarnia contract out if necessary. Bring the family together and continue teaching Galchenyuk.

Dunno, kids these days don't listen to their parents, specially after 18 yrs old, forget about it.

But if that's what's best for him then be it.

That's probably the idea for the season once the games are over for the Sting. Which would bring us to mid-season NHL depending if they go far. Correct?

I somewhat agree with you, but it's not always the case. Time will tell though.

I don't think Alex has had a billet family. So I imagine him to be real close to his parents and respect them alot.

Sting season should end somewhere in late March it looks like. They'll be one and done in the playoffs without Gally I would imagine. Could be around 17 games left by then.

On what planet do you live?

There's been absolutely nothing that would indicate that Galchenyuk would be a handful, or disrespectful towards his parents.

By all accounts, he's humble, hard working and respects authority.

Add in the Russian mother factor, and I don't think we need to worry about it.

Awesome. Awesome. Awesome news. They deserve to stay up. They've played great. I can't wait to see more of them with Prust.

That depends on his emotional attachments to his parents.

Kids that don't listen is because they've lost a good part of their emotional attachment to their parents and became more peer oriented at a young age.

It's no surprise that society has seen an overwhelming increase in peer orientation in the past 50 years, as parents have had to work increasingly more (work week up 135% in average in the course of the last 50 years), and modern life has become more stressful.

But, Galchenyuk seems to be part of the minority rather than today's norm.

Galchenyuk being sent down after showing promising skills and effort wouldn't be surprising not too long ago. I'm glad this management is taking the next step.

Great decision for Galchenyuk and the fans.

I don't see how Gallagher gets that assurance. Granted, he has been very fine so far, but he's not in the same boat as Galchenyuk for assurances... if Gallagher gets in a rut, it's back to Hamilton for him, not the same as Galchenyuk.

IMO everything from Gallagher being kept as the 14th forward instead of simply being recalled, to being told he's sticking with the club is to keep his confidence high & prevent discouragement.

It would seem Therrien learned a great deal from coaching Crosby & Staal in their rookie year.
