You can fix it by clicking edit on the OP and changing the title. In before the lame joke about "Trug" meaning "Krug" mods can you fix this?
Totally agree. Pietrangelo is the only big fish I'd really pursue. Otherwise add a second pair guy, a goalie, and then use some cap space to add more draft ammo. (I'd be very happy if Detroit acts as a third party to add one or more first round picks.)I voted no because I dont think he is a #1 D man, and I wouldnt "go all in" to sign him. With that said, I would make him an offer, but what I would offer probably wouldnt land him.
If only a 2nd pair guy, kinda like a Torey Krug type, was available.Totally agree. Pietrangelo is the only big fish I'd really pursue. I mean a steady but unremarkable guy who deserves a $4Mx3 kinda deal. Not some $7Mx7 contract for a guy who's one dimensional. If only a 2nd pair guy, kinda like a Torey Krug type, was available.
Oh wait, Torey Krug is a Torey Krug type!
...don't we have enough unremarkable guys on defenseI mean a steady but unremarkable guy who deserves a $4Mx3 kinda deal. Not some $7Mx7 contract for a guy who's one dimensional.
Just looking for a legit warm body to hold the fort until the kids develop more. Krug isn't worth splashing on unless you're a Torey Krug away from Cup contention.
I get that. I just think Krug would be a very disappointing $7Mx7 on this team. I see little difference between him in 2020 and Mike Green in 2015, and I would have been livid if the Wings had given Green a 7 year deal when they first brought him here....don't we have enough unremarkable guys on defense
Seriously, a 7x7 contract would not be amazing.. but dammit I don't think we should lean on Hronek to drive all the offense from the backend, or expect Seider to carry a pairing singlehandedly from day 1, and let these kids develop without any significant help. I want to add a steady but unremarkable guy when we are a #4 or #5D away from looking real solid. I don't want us to only add #4-5Ds and wait 5-6 years for one of the kids to develop into something better.
I definitely want Krug, but I also wouldn’t go long term. 3 or 4 years at 8.5-9 million
