Hey guys, I haven't been around for quite a while. Finally remembered my password here.

Sadly I don't have NHL 16, but I have NHL 15 for the 360 still so I'll do a GM mode on that starting tomorrow.

NOTE: I have updated the rosters manually, for the most part at least (Haven't added any of the 2015-16 Season trades) and edited some players, but my brother messed with the rosters and put some players on different teams that don't really make much sense. Too lazy to fix it.

BREAKING NEWS: Buffalo fires Tim Murray, hires Jay Morrison
38938-1024x624.jpg

The Buffalo Sabres announced today that Tim Murray has been fired as General Manager and replaced with Jay Morrison, former assistant GM of the Calgary Flames.

Morrison hopes to lead Buffalo through what is going to be a long and grueling rebuild process. His ultimate goal is to finally bring a cup to Buffalo.

"This franchise has been around for well over 40 years. They deserve a cup, for sure. I'll try my absolute best to bring it here"

When asked about trades, Morrison had this to say

"No idea, I'll won't touch the roster for the first bit of the season, see whose playing good with who, see whose not happy here or is struggling. Everyone's going to get a fair chance, they better wow me"

Buffalo is projected to finish near the bottom of the league this year

"The predictions are probably right, we are by no means a playoff team let alone a cup contender now. But give us time, we can snag a good prospect like McDavid or Eichel at the draft. Anything can happen"

At the Trade deadline the Carolina Hurricanes remained quiet making no trades what so ever, their current team record 25-29-10 has them in 2nd last in the NHL, with a handful of points over the Arizona Coyotes

PRE-TRADE DEADLINE NEWS

- The month of October was brutal for the Chicago Blackhawks, as they had only 4 points of a possible 18, posting a 1-6-2 record in the month of October.
- In November, they rebounded with a 10-8-0 record in a busy month, however, followed up with an 0-4-1 record to start the month of December. Rumours started swirling that a trade would be coming to pull the Hawks out of this funk. Some names thrown around were top prospect, Connor Bleackley, who signed as a UFA this past summer, and a young roster forward of their own: Teuvo Terevainen.
- With a 24-20-8 record a few weeks before the trade deadline, and a disgruntled 4th-liner who'd been a healthy scratch for 44 of 52 games this season, the Hawks made their first trade of the season.

TRADE - Feb. 4, 2017 - The Chicago Blackhawks trade LW Ryan Garbutt, CHI 2017 4th-round-pick & CHI 2018 2nd-round-pick to the Pittsburgh Penguins for RW Beau Bennett, PIT 2017 3rd-round-pick & PIT 2018 7th-round-pick.

- The Hawks went on a 5-5-1 run after the Bennett trade. A few days before the trade deadline, they made an even bigger move, this one with a surprising divisional rival who's at the bottom of the pack in the standings...

TRADE - Feb. 28, 2017 - The Chicago Blackhawks traded LW Teuvo Terevainen, CHI 2017 1st-round-pick, MTL 2017 2nd-round-pick & PIT 2018 3rd-round-pick to the St. Louis Blues for LW Alexander Steen & STL 2017 2nd-round-pick.

latest

Alex Steen joins the Hawks with 15 goals and 41 points through 62 games on a disappointing St. Louis Blues club.

TRADE DEADLINE

- With a 30-25-9 record at the trade deadline and two trades in the month of February, one being a big one to acquire Alex Steen from a divisional rival, the Chicago Blackhawks were going to have a quiet trade deadline. The only thing on their agenda was dealing disgruntled defenseman Evgeni Medvedev, who was waived after the Steen trade.

TRADE - Mar. 3, 2017 - The Chicago Blackhawks trade D Evgeni Medvedev to the Anaheim Ducks for ANA 2017 5th-round-pick.

POST-TRADE DEADLINE

- The Chicago Blackhawks go on an 11-5-2 run after the trade deadline to clinch a playoff spot, finishing 4th in the central division. The Blackhawks finish the season with a 41-30-11 record.

Wild GM Mode Year 6

After a disappointing Year 5. I decided to do some big changes on the back line, but not as many trades because I liked the season overall and the production of my top line is still rolling smooth.

Preseason Trades:

Minn: Forsberg (Top6) 2y 3.6m
NYR: Hendrickson(Elite 2020 5th overall) 3y .850

Had another younger forward I wanted to use on the 2nd line so Forsberg was cut. Needed a right handed Dman prospect to slowly get ready to phase Jones out.

Minn: Rielly(Franchise) 1y 6.8m
Car: Perreault(Elite 2019 2nd overall) 3y .850

While Rielly is still one of my favourite players in the game. I had too much cap devoted to my backhand and with signing Josi in the free agency and sanheim still a hair younger. Rielly needed to go.

Free Agency:

Hawerchuk (top 9) 3y .750
Hanzel 1y 7m

Prospect signed. Cap filler signed.

--

Starting Lineup for Year 6

Fabbri(88) - Drouin(96) - Duclair(88)
Anderson(86) - Point(87) - Ehlers(87)
Eriksson Ek(83) - Larkin(83) - Petan(83)
Koziol(84) - Beleskey(82) - Demarchi(83)

Jones(91) - Sanheim(92)
Dougherty(87) - Josi(90)
Bergman(83) - Provorov(84)

Mrazek(87) - Kollejan(84)

(While Mrazek was suppose to start and I had the initial intention too. Kollejan rolled on to Elite so I used him the entire season over Mrazek)

--

Season:

Oct. 6-2-1
Nov. 19-3-2
Dec. 28-7-2
Jan. 34-9-5

(Small trade on Jan 12th offered from CPU after updating my block.)
Minn: Mrazek 1y 8.5m
NJ: 2022 1st

Feb. 45-12-5
Mar. 55-15-6
Apr. 60-16-6

Finally finished 1st overall in the league.

Point Leaders:

1. Drouin 54g, 60a, 114pts
2. Duclair 30g, 64a, 94pts
3. Fabbri 19g, 74a, 93pts
4. Point 12g, 55a, 67pts
5. Jones 14g, 40a, 56pts
6. Ehlers 17g, 39a, 56pts

Don't normally like to post my goalie stats but I felt this season deserved an honorable mention:

Kollejan: 2.17GAA, .920SV% and 17 shutouts.

Playoffs: Round 1: Arizona

1. 3-1 Arz.
2. 4-2 Minn.
3. 3-1 Arz.
4. 2-0 Minn.
5. 3-0 Minn.
6. 4-2 Minn.

Solid across the board. Good goaltending in 4,5. Offense in 2,6.

Round 2: St Louis

1. 3-0 Stl.
2. 4-1 Minn.
3. 3-2 Minn. OT
4. 6-1 Minn.
5. 3-1 Stl.
6. 6-1 Minn.

Offense carried through once again.

Round 3: Colorado

1. 3-0 Col.
2. 5-3 Minn.
3. 4-3 Col. OT
4. 4-3 Minn. OT
5. 4-1 Minn.
6. 3-2 Minn.

Slightly closer then the previous series but team kept it together.

Round 4: Carolina

1. 6-0 Car.
2. 1-0 Car.
3. 5-2 Car.
4. 4-3 Minn. OT
5. 4-3 Car. OT

Better than last year but still fell short. Might need to reevaluate some area's for next year.

Awards:

Drouin: Art, Hart, Lady, Ted, Maurice

Draft day:

Minn: 2021 1st(30), 1st(Car 29th), 2021 4th, 4th(Car)

Hey guys, I haven't been around for quite a while. Finally remembered my password here.

Sadly I don't have NHL 16, but I have NHL 15 for the 360 still so I'll do a GM mode on that starting tomorrow.

I've been using 15 on the PS3, and not Legacy. It works fine.

I don't know for sure, but if you head over to the Operation Sports forum (just google it) and sign up there, you can probably find an updated X360 NHL 15 roster. That is what I did to get my roster for PS3, and someone managed to put in all the 2015 prospects (McDavid, Eichel, etc)

I usually keep older guys up there so they don't eat spots from my younger players in the AHL. I hate the menus in this game, so it's easier to plug in guys that way when there's a slump too.

Yea, but the current rosters I have are fine, I like the overalls I set. I can survive with a few players being on the wrong team, all the superstars and top prospects are where they need to be and I have Eichel and Hanafin

Just a heads up for anybody waiting for a post TDL update.

It is a good idea to release any UFA rentals to free agency before starting. Not sure how it works in next gen, but on PS3/360, it automatically adjusts the salary cap to fit in the rentals, which means it breaks every team's salary structure by shaving off players salaries to make everybody fit.

The drafting in this game is broken. Draft a top-5 projected player, his potential is a low top-4. Everyone else drafting around me in the top 8? Elite potentials. What the ****?

2016 - 2017 Leafs season

After failing to make the playoffs last year, the Leafs have developed a few top prospects who will make their NHL debuts in the season opener against Tampa Bay. The Leafs are expected to make the playoffs this year, making a few key free agent signings in the offseason. With that being said, let's take a look at the Leafs starting line-up for this year.

Van Riemsdyk (87) Kadri (87) Lupul (85)
Grabner (82) Nylander (83) Leivo (83)
Matthias (83) Holland (82) Parenteau (83)
Leipsic (82) Sissons (82) Kapanen (82)

Rielly (91) Coburn (84)
Polak (83) Marincin (83)
Corrado (82) Percy (81)

Andersen (90)
Bernier (86)

Top Prospects:
Rielly (91) Med Franchise
Marner (82) Med Franchise
Nylander (83) Med Franchise
Korostelev (73) Med Elite
Tkachuk (70) Med Elite

The Leafs management had a decision to make, who would back-up Andersen this year.. Reimer, or Bernier? The decision was made and Jonathan Bernier now has a new team.

Bernier, 2017 4th round pick to EDM

Justin Schultz to TOR

Schultz will now replace Percy in the starting line-up, but Percy will not be sent down. There could be a possible trade coming up very soon.

PRE-TRADE DEADLINE NEWS

- Pre-season: 3-2-1.
- For a second straight season, the Chicago Blackhawks started out of the gate poorly, posting a record of 4-5-1 through the month of October.
- 43 games into the season, a week away from the All-Star Break, the Hawks have a miserable 18-20-5 record. The story of the season: whenever they get a win or two and look to be heading in the right direction, they suffer a loss and their confidence crumbles, putting them in an even longer losing streak. They currently sit 6th in the Central Division, 7 points back of the final wild card spot held by the St. Louis Blues. At this point, Chicago media and fans are wondering what lies ahead for the rest of the season. Are they going to ship off younger players and more picks for a quick fix to get into the playoffs, where they would possibly suffer another first round exit? Will they write this season off, grab a good pick and come back strong next season? Will they stand pat and hope it works itself out? These questions are all being discussed in the media, among fans, and even in Chicago's front office heading into the All-Star Break.
- By the end of January, those questions seemed to answer themselves as the Hawks finished the month with a 19-25-5 record. All signs are pointing to the Hawks being a seller at the trade deadline.
- With a week to go until the NHL Trade Deadline, the Chicago Blackhawks have a 24-31-5 record and will "definitely be shipping out assets for younger talent and picks." The names being shopped include Artem Anisimov, Justin Williams and Marcus Kruger. The Hawks are reportedly also listening to offers on Corey Crawford and Brent Seabrook.

TRADE - Mar. 1, 2018 - The Chicago Blackhawks trade C Artem Anisimov, RW Justin Williams, CAR 2018 4th-round-pick & CHI 2018 6th-round-pick to the Calgary Flames for prospect C Vesa Jarvinen, LW Auston Carroll & CGY 2018 2nd-round-pick.

TRADE DEADLINE

- With a 26-32-5 record and the trade made on March 1st, it's clear the Chicago Blackhawks are sellers and aren't willing to trade for a quick fix just for another early playoff exit. The Blackhawks aren't looking to "blow it up" according to reports, but looking for a retool to come back stronger next year. The Hawks are open to trading names like Eric Staal or Andrew Ladd, but not both, but the return would have to be really good for the Hawks to do it, otherwise they'll just bring both back next season.

TRADE - Mar. 3, 2018 - The Chicago Blackhawks trade LW Eric Staal & RW Richard Panik to the Boston Bruins for C Alexander Khokhlachev, prospect RW Keanu Yamamoto, BOS 2018 1st-round-pick & BOS 2018 2nd-round-pick.

TRADE - Mar. 3, 2018 - The Chicago Blackhawks trade C Marcus Kruger to the Montreal Canadiens for MTL 2018 3rd-round-pick & MTL 2018 5th-round-pick.

dsBSczz.jpg

Eric Staal was apart of a blockbuster trade on trade deadline day, sending him from the Chicago Blackhawks to the Boston Bruins as apart of a 4-player, 6-piece deal.

POST-TRADE DEADLINE

- Reports out of Chicago shortly after the NHL Trade Deadline are that a lot of players in the dressing room are disappointed in the trades in the recent days of players like Anisimov, Williams, Kruger, Panik, and most notably, Eric Staal, but "all of them" are more disappointed in themselves for allowing it and allowing a season like this to take place. Reports say that GM MCG was looking to do something like this, but not to this extent, after two consecutive first-round playoff exits.
- The Hawks went on an 8-9-2 after the trade deadline to finish the season with a 34-41-7 record. They finished 6th in the Central Division and 26th in the NHL.

TRADE - July 1, 2018 - The Chicago Blackhawks trade D Connor Murphy to the Toronto Maple Leafs for D Stuart Percy.

TRADE - July 4, 2018 - The Chicago Blackhawks trade prospect LW Don Fallon & prospect C Jack Studnicka to the St. Louis Blues for D Jordan Schmaltz.

Analysts across the North America were praising the hell out of the Jordan Schmaltz deal. The 24-year-old defenseman has 4 years left on his deal at $3.29m a year and had become extremely disgruntled in St. Louis (he had the red angry face next to his name). He reportedly demanded a trade to the Chicago Blackhawks due to glowing reviews from his brother, Nick (who no longer plays hockey). The Blues came calling and the offer was too good for GM MCG to pass up.

(Schmaltz overall when the Blues offered him was 78 overall, after the trade he popped back up to an 85 overall).

Year 7 Wild GM mode

Year 7. Probably one of my farthest personal GM seasons for this year so far. With a good playoffs run last year from the previous one before that. I wasn't insanely unhappy but still felt obliged to make moves. Players know that most aren't safe and they need to improve or be prepared to be shipped off for younger and more ambitious talent. Lets begin.

Preseason Trades:

Minn: Bergman(Top 4) 2y 4m
CBJ: Foote(Elite) 1y .925

Just a straight across trade right shot for right. Similar overall but foote was younger.

Minn: Chainey(Top 6) 1y .750
Chi: Hillis(Elite) 2y .825

Similar to above except I was done waiting for chainey to get NHL ready and moved him.

Minn: Sergachev(7th) 1y .925
NJ: Roger(Elite) 2y 1.325m

Idle overall and worsening potential.

Minn: Josi 3y 7m, 2022 5,6,7
SJ: Laliberte(Elite 2021 1st overall) 3y 1m

This guy is a beast and I needed to make it happen. Regret not drafting him myself but SJ didn't want to dump there pick last year.

Minn: Demarchi(Top 6) 1y .750, 2022 3rd, 2023 6,7
Bos: Therien(Elite) 2y .830

Too many 3rd liners. Needed more defense prospects for a couple years I had forwards playing defense in the AHL.

Minn: Larkin(Top 6) 2y 3.3m, Wozniewski(Top 6 AHL) 3y .800
Det: Teubert(Elite) 3y .925, Lalancette(Elite) 1y .875, 2022 3rd, 2023 5th

Larkin never rolled off top 6 his overall was fairly consistent in the mid 80's and I didn't want to ever spell the other guys name again. Got two good prospects.

Minn: Harkin(bot 6) 2y .900, Lang(Top 9) 1y .875
Dal: 2022 3rd

Needed contract space.

Free Agency:

Ceci 1y 10m
Wilcox(Backup) 3y .900

Prospect goalie. Ceci cap holder.

3. 6-2 STL.
4. 3-2 Minn. OT
5. 7-4 STL.

Not happy with the amount of goals scored against, but I'll address that next year.

Round 2: Colorado

1. 3-1 Minn.
2. 4-2 Minn.
3. 5-3 Minn.
4. 6-3 Minn.

Sweeps. Thankfully Colorado beat Dallas for me.

4. 3-1 Minn.
5. 6-5 Ana. Double OT

2. 4-1 WSH.
3. 2-1 Minn.
4. 5-4 Minn.
5. 4-2 Minn.

Nervous after getting stomped so heavily in the first two, but the team rallied and got 4 straight.

Awards:

Drouin: Art, Hart, Lady, Conn, Ted L, Maurice
J.Perreault: Calder

Draft Day:

This draft I was very active in trading but not really into the top 10 minus one pick because I saw two ok prospects. Oddly enough the 1st pick was neither of the two I was eyeballing so I had a tough choice in a goalie or a defenseman.

Minn: Dougherty(Elite) 3y 4.7m, 2022 1st(30)
LA: 2022 1st(2), 2023 3rd, McNabb 1y 2.6m

This was a trade made only because Dougherty was the only player that could be traded with any value the rest all had 1y contracts. Annoying.

2. Simon(Elite) Dman

Minn: 2022 1st(NJ 6th), 2022 3(Det), 3(Dal), 4, 2023 3rd
Tor: 2022 1st(13), 2023 1st

Top 10 wasn't interesting, but I pinned 5 people outside of it that I was hoping to snag.

Minn: Desantis(Bot 6) 2y .900, 2023 1st(Minn)
NSH: 2022 2nd, 2023 2nd

Again moving assets to acquire the 5 players I was interested in.

Minn: Provorov(Top 4) 3y 2.2m, 2022 2nd(Minn)
MTL: 2022 1st(24), 2022 2nd, 2023 3rd,4th and Scandella 1y 3mil

Same as above.

13. Abney (Top 9) C
24. Kvasha (Elite) G
32. Wilm (Top 6) C

Minn: 2022 2nd(Bos), 2nd(MTL)
Buff: 2022 2nd, 2023 3rd

35. Irwin (Top 6) RW

Resign:

Jones(Elite 92ov) 8y 6m
Fabbri(Elite 91ov) 7y 7.5m
Lalancette(Elite 86ov) 3y 3m
Labrie(Top 9 83ov) 3y 1.3m
Sanheim(Elite 93ov) 8y 7m
Foote(Elite 84ov) 4y 3.5m
Kollejan(Elite 88ov) 1y 5m
C.Anderson(Top 6 86ov) 3y 2.8m

Release:

Petan
Ceci
Scandella
McNabb

Tendered:

Point
Eriksson Ek
Ehlers

18mil in Cap

While I had more then enough cap space to sign all 3 of them I opted not too. Leaving them to F/A in the hope they get picked up and I get free draft picks without the hassle.

Minn: Eriksson Ek
TB: 2023 2nd

Claimed.

Edmonton could be fun. Try to build a team around McDavid.

The problem is they are way overpowered so if you are being realistic, I'd edit some players around. Despite being 83, Yak puts up points if you play him in the top 6, Schultz still has elite potential.
