Who would be more likely to be traded this summer; Iginla or Comeau? Which player is more valuable to your team? If the Barrie rumors turn out to be true, which type of player are you hoping for as the primary return; LW, C, RW, or D?

Iginla won't wave his NMC and Comeau was a Roy-favourite last year, so neither will be traded. Comeau is more valuable, thought not by much. If the Barrie rumours are true, then I'd want a defensemen coming back. One just as good as Barrie.

Thanks! What's the story in the NMC? He's stated publicly he's not moving on?

If they want to dump a player it would be Mitchell. He's useful but I think they figure the money can be best spent elsewhere. Most here would cry tears of joy if they could move Iginla and yes he's publicly stated his family is happy here and he won't move them. If Barrie goes they want a D back, problem is they probably aren't finding that deal. I expect him to go for a futures heavy package in 2 years.

Well he hasn't explicitly said the words "I refuse to waive my NMC" but he's basically said that, just in other words. Winning a Stanley Cup doesn't seem to be a priority to Iginla anymore, he seems content collecting a paycheque and being comfortable with his family in Denver.

We can only hope

I would rather hope the Avs are solidly in the hunt for the 6-7 spot out west and that Iggy is playing decent enough that having him on our 3rd/4th line and as PP specialist and leader in the room is valuable enough to keep him around rather than giving him away to another team.

That said, if the Avs are out of the race at the deadline, I would be SHOCKED if Iggy does not go to a true contender. The Stars, as an example, could very well be looking for a cheap rental vet with experience and some hunger for a Cup. Plus it is a quick flight from Denver if he truly wants to be close to his family.

If the Avs retain half his salary cap hit at the deadline I would bet there is decent interest from one of the power teams and Iggy would take one more chance to get a Cup. Maybe he is even worth a 2nd or 3rd round pick.

If we are in the hunt then it won't be because of Iggy. He's really the only player we have that a team could actually covet and give up something decent and it won't hurt us to move him. It's a dream tho.

He could also have a bounce back year, score 65 odd points, and ask to go around again at 1.5 mill odd, which I'd then jump at.

Or is that just wishful thinking?

He could have a 'Dave Andreychuk-like' rebound season when everyone thought he was done. But for me it's not about the points, it's all the board battles that he can't seem to come on top of anymore. He's just not a viable top-6 option anymore and he's a borderline 3rd line option at this point because of his lack of speed.

The sooner he's off the books, the better, imo.

Bingo. I've been hating on Iginla since about two weeks into his first season in Colorado but it isn't because of points. Hell, the guy lead our squad in points his first season. What he's doing statistically at this point in his career is quite impressive. This doesn't take away the fact that he cant win a battle or receive a pass cleanly though.

Iginla needs to be absolutely spoon-fed the puck or else it's ending up on the other team's stick. Unless he's in a prime scoring spot or able to make an easy perimeter pass he cant do anything with the puck.

Yeah, I agree unfortunately. I mean unfortunately for Iginla btw...not the agreeing with you part.

He still solid on the PP, and especially in the slot (or his slot), but he looks like he's skating through mud now.

Hate to see players who play one / two seasons too long.

I was devastated when Sakic retired, but he got 52 points in 57 games his last two seasons, after a 100 point season (the machine).

Even though he could have played on, he kept his legacy in tact, and left with his fans wanting more.

I'm also very surprised The Redwings acquired Stuart. Weird acquisition. Another player who maybe should have retired 1/2 years ago.

The thing that bothers me about him losing board battles is not that hes losing them so much its that there seems to be little to no effort at times. We seen him when he tries and more often than not he comes out of those just fine its the lack of effort at times that bothers the **** out of me.

One of the times he gave a little effort last season. BTW, how talented is Mack to get that shot off the way he did with as much power and accuracy off the wrong foot. That shot just looks so wrong technique wise but Mack makes it work.

So...apparently 14 Russian hockey players from the International Team have been flagged for PED's.
