Why would Wolski sign an AHL contract lol
Read it in a Rumor post. “Wolski could try to land a gig in the AHL or even NHL in an attempt to get back to the top level of pro hockey before his playing days are done.” So if he was interested in it would you?

It's not ideal to be a one line team, but with Avs defense improving and hopefully having a very strong goalie tandem it can work. Still going to need a few of those other forwards hitting 35-45 points.

Once the season starts it's hard to add quality forwards at a reasonable cost (waivers are basically free) so I think we have to settle for what we have.

He was 3rd on his team in scoring and still Magnita's staff wanted him gone. When he's not scoring he is holding your team back.

No, because he'll blow in the NHL, which we know already, and playing in the NHL is his only objective in that scenario.

I love the package we got for Duchene but man, Slavin would had been incredible return. Guy is awesome, #1D on a superb contract. No wonder why Canes said no.

Maybe sign Duchene in the offseason and try again?

Jakob Silfverberg

Would be real nice next to Soda. Not the one to kickstart secondary scoring though.

Silfverberg has been one of the obvious candidates in the last couple years to trade for IMO. He'd be a great help to Jost. Giving him a solid two way player to help ease the defensive load, and the skill of a 20 goal scroer, 40-50 point guy to help him offensively.

Not sure the Ducks will miss the playoffs this year though, so they'll probably have to wait until the summer. The Avs could have two potential RW targets though in UFA with Silf and Stone.

I really think Avs are a 2nd line center or a winger away from becoming a true contender. But where do they find that center or a winger? They need someone who can carry that 2nd line, legit scorer.

I'm not sure about the Sens pick since they actually look like a good young team playing without the destructions they had. Doesn't look like its gonna be a top 3 or even a top 5 pick. Sakic may have to trade

Lol. Skinner is a much better player than Kerfoot. How can you even compare the two?

Seriously??

Kerfoot
(24 years old, 832k salary)
2018- 79 GP, 19g, 24a, 43pts, -7 +/-
2019- 8 GP- 1g, 5a, 6pts, -2 +/-

Skinner
(26 years old, 6 million salary)
2018- 82 GP, 24g, 25a, 49 pts, -27 +/-
2019- 9 GP, 5g, 2a, 7pts, +8 +/-

So for a measly 5.5 million dollars more we could have a guy who had 6 more points and a -20 difference in plus/minus.

Yep. Good call man.

We are tied with TOR for the 2nd most points in the league with 12 and 2 behind Nashville for #1.

I'd say we are a contender this year.

Yeah but again it's the 1st line that doing most of the point production, and in the playoffs you cant win with 1 line

Just like we have said for Ottawa and Toronto, it’s still way early in the season. There’s plenty of time for things to start crashing down or get even better. We aren’t even 10% through the season.

Dog, were 8 games in. Can’t even look at this team with burgundy color glasses and think they could compete with a team like the Pens/Caps/Bolts in a 7 game series. It is possible they advance to the west finals though.

I’m with whoever said they need one elite player to stabilize the second line. That plus one year of development is opening that window next year imo.
