All about the right mix with the right system. Pens had neither. lol

Thing is the middle pair was awful with no anchor on it.
Schultz is the skate it up and go guy but he broke his leg and missed 3/4's of the season.
Olli, JJ can't anchor that in this league atm.
What really hurts is when your top pair gets wonky too.
Just compounds the issue.

If Phil goes for picks and theres no real beef up on D i'd ride out the season(while still looking to beef up the D of course) with JJ bought out and Olli traded:

It's bad for the game.

To tomahawk another player when the game is in the national spotlight because you are frustrated with the score, and then fake/slow clap the penalty showing up the official for ringing you up is not what you want one of the biggest names in the game to do.

Malkin got a game for similar, the only difference being that Malkin reacted to a late hit rather than unprovoked other than by the score, he missed and aimed higher.
