Chychrun is on pace for -131. Poor guy.
He’s got a long term deal so no impact on his contract. But sucks for him.Ouch. 10 games, 0 goals, 0 assists, 20 PIM (no fights), -16.
They lost a lot of veteran Dmen in one offseason: OEL, Goligoski, Hjamarsson, Demers. Only added Stralman.
Most of those guys will be ready for them Nhl by the time he’s done his current contract.ARZ has 8 picks in the first 2 rounds of the 2022 draft and 18 picks in the first 3 rounds over the next three years

AZ owns theirs, Colorado and most likely the Carolina pick in round 1.
AZ pick should play next season the other 2 not for 1-2 more seasons realistically. Possibly 3. Majority of 2nd rounders don’t play til draft + 2/3 years.
Guys like Keller and Chrychurn just have to bear the brunt of the losing til then.
Detroit has a ton of picks as well I believe. At least they're somewhat competative.ARZ has 8 picks in the first 2 rounds of the 2022 draft and 18 picks in the first 3 rounds over the next three years
They have an additional 2nd and two additional 4ths. So, 7 picks in the the first 4 rounds next year.Detroit has a ton of picks as well I believe. At least they're somewhat competative.

but that is something he should have considered when he extended long term with AZ. He signed in like 2019 or something? That is still 7 years since they last made the PO. So did he really expect things to change for them with their arena issues? Got paid but signed away a couple of ufa years.
As we have seen in the nfl, having picks is good but still need to make them count. 2 fold strategy is using the picks for cheap players and using the freed up cap to fill in other areas. But still comes down to making the picks count and developing them.Keller, Chychrun, Hayton, and Guenther all 23 or younger.
From capfriendly I'm interpreting that they get the best of the Montreal or Carolina pick or worst if both are in the top 10 which is highly unlikely with Carolina being a very good team. So they could have their own certain to be top 5 and another top 10 maybe even top 5 in 2022. Plus the Colorado pick (#25?). If they get two top 5s, both will likely be in the NHL next year because it's Arizona.
It's also completely feasible that 7 of the 8 picks in rounds 1 and 2 next year will be top 40. That's 7 of the top 40 draft eligible players. That's pretty crazy.
And to add to all that, they will have $50Mish in cap space. Should be fun to watch!

Chrychurn will likely ask for a trade out as well at some point. Hard to be on a perennial loser.
Look at how the Cowboys handled a specific situation:As we have seen in the nfl, having picks is good but still need to make them count. 2 fold strategy is using the picks for cheap players and using the freed up cap to fill in other areas. Miami Dolphins moved a pro bowl caliber S in Fitzpatrick for a first and a top 5-10 LT for 3 firsts and a 2nd.
Ummm why hasn't Buffalo accepted this?

I have no idea. Seems like a no brainer.
Tkachuk + 1st + prospect(former 1st) + 2 more prospectsTweet not available. What was the rumoured offer?
Curious how some people have forgoten about them. When most of us complain about them being a waste of cap space, we would get ridiculous justification to why Jimbo signed them. They can't play and can't mentor and bring nothing to the table.They have been an waste of capspace since day 1.Eriksson, Beagle, Roussel a combined 25 games, 0 goals, 1 assist, -14, cap hit $12M

@KevinWeekes
For all asking, my understanding is the
@NHLFlames
have Tkachuk ( who is a future potential captain) an upcoming 1 Rd pick, a former 1st Rd pick, and 2 prospects in the Eichel sweepstakes with the
@BuffaloSabres

Buffalo would then have to flip Tkachuk. Don’t see him wanting to endure a rebuild when he’s a year away from ufa.Thanks. I think one issue with Tkachuk is that he is seen as a rental (along with $9M qualifying offer). Seems like Calgary is willing to empty their cupboards for Eichel.
