Yeah, I have a ton of affection for him, he plays with a ton of heart, but I was genuinely fearful that Fitz would end up having to keep him. Sami’s injury history is even worse when you include the shoulder injury in the 2017 playoffs that caused him to miss most of October in Anaheim before they traded him.

I was in the camp that thought we'd be unable to trade him due to his injury, he'd walk at UFA and the Devils would wind up with nothing.
