I wonder how many teams actually have all the picks required (picks which belong to the team) to sign a player like Point. A lot of teams hang onto their first round picks, but how many have the 2nd and 3rd round picks available?

$1,339,575 or lessNo compensation
$1,339,576 to $2,029,659Third-round pick
$2,029,660 to $4,059,322Second-round pick
$4,059,323 to $6,088,980First and third-round picks
$6,088,981 to $8,118,641First, second and third-round picks
$8,118,642 to $10,148,302Two firsts, a second and third-round picks
Over $10,148,302Four first-round picks

It's damn near impossible to find a team with a combination of picks and cap space.

Harder to find one with picks in 1,2,3 next year but there are some. Then it would be a matter of moving out a contract (s) to fit. This website tracks the teams and picks

Tampa Bay Lightning Future Draft Pick Status

Kings could, but they'd have to move bodies out and then that would create holes

Looks like the only team that could offersheet him who have the picks and the cap space would be Carolina with 15 million in cap space. They probably need to save a little bit with Teravainen and Aho needing extensions, but realistically they could pull it off. And they already have Svechnikov and Necas as their blue chip prospects so they probably wouldn't need their 1st round pick.

Sens looking good tonight up 3-1 on the Pens and Drake Batherson is a name to keep an eye on. Was leading the AHL in points prior to his call up. Currently playing on a line with Duchene and has looked good early on, small sample size and all (4+ periods.

More fun from the Pens board:

Pearson looked like a slug getting back. I want Hagelin back.

The Blues are a pretty bad team as well.

This might be your top three pickers in the draft:

Blues
Hawks
Kings

Wow.

I was going to say, assuming the Blues go on to lose tonight, the bottom 6 points% teams in the league will be Anaheim, Chicago, Pittsburgh, St.Louis, Vegas, and LA. Feels like cheating putting Vegas in there, with the 1+ year of existence and all, but they did make the Final.

Notice the response by Kassian to Tkachuk after he face washes Draistal.

Kasssian just dropped them and started pummeling Tkachuk. This is what Clifford, Andreoff and co should have done.

Our players are better than that. That's a Tom Sestito thing to do.

Yep, if he's gonna have free reign to pick his spots, you pick them for him.

I approve of Kassian.

NHL is to protective of rats in the game.

I used to HATE that play, and the instigator made sense so you didn't have, say, Eric Lindros just strolling up and picking a fight with Gretzky.

But nowadays, half these guys won't do anything until there's a referee to save them, and since they know there are no physical repercussions, you have every chirper from 5'8" to 6'0" running around with their sticks and knees to anyone they want. Tkachuk has now had at least two visible instances of spearing people over barriers of play--past officials!!--and not a thing has happened to him. Can you imagine if this were the 90s? Hell, I'd love to have seen Willie Mitchell see that on the bench, he would have picked him up by the scruff and tossed him in a trash can. Drives me f***ing crazy about this version of the game and I don't by any means fancy myself an 'ol time hockey' guy. I just believe in accountability.

Even playing Nashville last night, they were better than they usually are, but the f***ing entitlement from Forsberg whining after every play...
