Hahahahaha. AV's already clicking his heels at the thought of Precious Ebbett being back on the PK and PP and every other ******* thing he shouldn't be near.

Lame. I really don't like trashing a player like Ebbet who does try his best. But the guy just isn't an NHL caliber player. This team better get its issues figured out quick because I don't see this as a good sign.

This is the spark this team needs.

How this guy makes our roster is scary. It shows the lack of depth up front. Injuries are going to happen, and in the playoffs you need decent 13s and 14s. Ebbett is not this. I'm a little afraid of not only the teams' lack of a top 6 scorer, but also the forward depth. Ebbett?? Really!! Yikes!

Who would you have called up instead?

Did we not go to burrows at center and kassian on the first originally because ebbett could not hack it on the team? And especially at center? We played quite well to.

Now were looking to go back to something that did not work.

If Ebbett was used in a limited fourth line role, he'd be fine. I can understand the thinking behind wanting Ebbett on the PK because it gives some key guys a rest, but it doesn't make sense as Ebbett isn't a good penalty killer; which has been proven plenty of times already in his short stints.

Give him only a handful of minutes on the fourth line, and he'd be an alright filler for a bit, IMO. AV is putting him in situations to fail, and of course he will, and eventually does. If anyone should be at blame, it's AV; using his assets for wrongful usage.

To quote a wise man... Wonderful.

The brilliant personnel switch. The Canucks were far too tough and physical anyways, sometimes they would actually hit the opposition! Thankfully, we need not worry about that hogwash ever again. Sheriff Ebbett is back in town to make sure our puck is gently turned over a few more times per game and we won't have to worry about Volpatti standing up for teammates anymore, or any such nonsense. Hurray!

doubtful I say there will be a evaluation after a couple of games to see and what can be done to improve.......MG is smart enough to know Ebbert cannot replace Kesler offense and defense responsibilities

He's not replacing Kesler (that would be comical). Shroeder will likely get more minutes, and whoever centers the third line (Burrows, Higgins) will play a bigger defensive role. Ebbett should be limited to fourth line minutes. Hopefully Gillis can bring someone who actually has NHL credibility in (though I'm not going to hold my breath).

I would go after Steve ott he would be a solid third line center

Fair enough, especially considering two centres went down in two weeks but I'm not satisfied with Ebbett come playoff time in any form. Not as the 13th or 14th forward, not at all. There needs to be some serious upgrades, a top 6 forward and some tough bottom 6 players as well. Too bad the cost will be to dry up our future. :o

We need a top six winger for sure, but I believe our bottom six is fine, although I would try and get one more tough, grinder for the fourth line which should be cheap to get from a team that is selling at the deadline. Bottom six doesn't really need any upgrading, it's fine aside from a possible fourth line upgrade with the departure of Volpatti. Can Pinizzotto solidify that spot? Not sure, that's a lot to ask from a player that's having loads of injury issues and hasn't played in the NHL.

Like I said, Ebbett is fine when he's just a filler for a game or two with limited minutes, while being played in the correct role where he can succeed in. There is no logical reason to be playing Ebbett on the PK, even though I can understand the thinking behind it.
