Gaetz is arguably the biggest idiot in DC and that’s saying something, but Florida is gonna Florida
He’s special that’s for sure and not in a good way. I will say at least he’s not suing someone for $500 mil because they called him a cow on social media.

Well......on the plus side.....I ‘m getting 3 weeks per gallon of gas.

I was spending like $400 a month on gas, that’s been reduced by about 90%. So that’s a silver lining I guess

Would rather be paying the $400 to be able to have a life tho lol

The rousing show of support provided another gripping scene to emerge from the coronavirus pandemic: the rank and file cheering a boss they viewed as putting their safety ahead of his career.

WASHINGTON — It was a send-off for the ages, with hundreds of sailors aboard the aircraft carrier Theodore Roosevelt cheering Capt. Brett E. Crozier, the commander who sacrificed his naval career by writing a letter to his superiors demanding more help as the novel coronavirus spread through the ship.

The rousing show of support provided the latest gripping scene to emerge from the coronavirus pandemic: the rank and file shouting their admiration for a boss they viewed as putting their safety ahead of his career.

The Navy Fired the Captain of the Theodore Roosevelt. See How the Crew Responded.

we live in a world where war criminals are pardoned and actual REAL leaders of men and women are punished for putting their necks on the line for others

pathetic

This incident doesn’t exactly paint a glowing picture of the Navy’s leadership, that’s for sure.

I understand the need for rules...but what Captain Crozier did is heroic.

Wearing an improperly fitted, improperly worn, or the wrong type of mask may increase your chances of becoming infected. The virus can get trapped inside your mask.

I just saw a long live interview with Fauci and he said masks help prevent you from transmitting the virus, not prevent you from getting it.

My wife is a Respiratory Director and my next door neighbor works for the CDC and they agree with everything in this post.

And I quote:

“The Strategic National Stockpile's role is to supplement state and local supplies during public health emergencies. Many states have products stockpiled, as well. The supplies, medicines, and devices for life-saving care contained in the stockpile can be used as a short-term stopgap buffer when the immediate supply of adequate amounts of these materials may not be immediately available.”

I get the whole chain of command thing but when that navy source says he did it after more or less being ignored it completely excuses it in my book. Dude just cared about his people and got fired for it, meanwhile we have a soldier who’s own platoon turned him in for war crimes getting pardoned. It’s a joke to be honest.

I don’t like saying it but the optics from here are that they look at people as numbers/robots. There’s such a lack of value being placed on life

And they would have a decent point seeing as how we owe them over a trillion dollars

wish we weren’t so dependent on them but unfortunately that seems to be the case

They might lose their position as banker for the planet after this if a lot of that debt isn’t forgiven.

This could be it for their government. This is worse over there than is being let on and their people might have finally had enough.

Ideally China breaking up and turning into a bunch of smaller countries based on their provinces would be best most folks over there don’t identify with Beijing. Think how California or Texas could easily be their own countries.

It’s honestly too big for its own good and we are starting to see the cracks in the dam. Just in the last 6 months alone we’ve seen it in Hong Kong and with this pandemic....it’s almost like as a country they have too many pots on the stove

Jack Eichel supports his mom and her fellow Boston nurses - The Boston Globe

Buffalo Sabres captain Jack Eichel has purchased 5,000 personal protective equipment masks to be distributed to local hospitals dealing with shortages.

Eichel, who grew up in Chelmsford and played at Boston University, purchased the masks from Bauer Hockey, which has shifted its production from making sports equipment during the pandemic. Eichel has a sponsorship deal with Bauer.

Eichel says he is thankful to the medical professionals “on the front lines taking care of our community.” Eichel’s mother is a nurse at Boston Medical Center, though she recently took time off to care for her husband, who is recovering from shoulder replacement surgery.

Hurricanes working for their employees

The Carolina Hurricanes are putting more than half of full-time staff on furlough through June 7 while taking steps they said would ensure affected employees don’t lose income amid the coronavirus pandemic that has led to the suspension of the NHL season.

The team announced the plan Friday with the team and PNC Arena having shut down operations last month to ensure social-distancing practices.

The team says the furlough applies to about 55 percent of full-time employees, who would be directed to access unemployment benefits through the government’s $2.2 trillion economic rescue package.
Furloughed employees ineligible to collect full base salaries through unemployment would receive a bonus from the organization when the furlough ends “to be made whole.”
Additionally, furloughed employees will keep healthcare benefits, with the team covering premium payments during that time.

This is what the infectious disease specialists in Toronto said as well.

“It’s D.P.A. by impulse,” said Jeffrey Bialos, a former under secretary of defense for industrial affairs for the Clinton administration.

He said the administration should instead use the law as leverage.

“You have the carrot and the stick,” Mr. Bialos said. “If you were a sophisticated person or group doing this you would use the carrot and the stick to get more from the industry today to facilitate production for the future.”

Despite Mr. Navarro’s order, critics say that the administration was encouraging American exports of masks and other protective gear in January and February, even as it should have been preparing medical supplies for the crisis to come.

Representative Lloyd Doggett, Democrat of Texas, pointed out that the Commerce Department was still advertising measures to help American businesses export medical products to China as late as the last week of February, even after administration officials told Congress they might face a shortage of face masks.

In January and February, United States exports of ventilators and oxygenation products to China were up 138 percent from the previous year, while exports of gas and face masks with filters rose 1315 percent, according to data from the Census Bureau analyzed by Mr. Doggett’s office. Exports of protective garments were up 493 percent in the same period, while exports of disinfectant products rose 225 percent, the data show.

“Ignoring the obvious need to prepare for a pandemic, the Trump administration promoted substantially increased export of face masks, ventilators, and other vital equipment to China rather than protecting our health care workers,” Mr. Doggett said in a statement. “Many Americans are now paying with their lives for Trump denial, delay, and deception.”

how about the idiots who are still not distancing and acting like nothing is happening?

Those idiots you speak of are probably listening to trumps briefings. They see that he's not taking the pandemic seriously and they're following their leader.

Unfortunately he sets the example. Today he says it's recommended that you wear a mask when you leave your house but I'm not wearing one. Idiot

Not saying what he did was wrong but that, in the mind of the Armed Forces, should have stayed on private channels. He is the captain of a Nuclear Aircraft Carrier and right of wrong he broke the rules in the way and the channels on which the info was sent. Again, I don't have an issue with it as it seems like he is more acting as a conscientious objector to the common rules, but it was in that grey area IMO. As for the Jared stuff, it's nuts that it has come to son in law, skin cream models daylighting as public servants, setting policy and direction for the Fed. This is getting so out of hand it's no longer funny or even comical in the English sense of the word. Nuts....
