Sabres had 9 shots on goal until about the 2 minute mark in the 3rd when we pulled the goalie. We had a flurry of non-dangerous shots that got the total up a bit.

Hutton kept the game from being a blowout.

Easily the worst effort game of the season.

This team has not qualified for the playoffs since Pegula took over, unless you count the partial season when he first bought the Sabres in 2011. It is the longest playoff drought in franchise history, double the drought from previous periods.

The owner is "harvesting" money from a mediocre asset. If he truly wanted to increase the book value of his asset he would push hard for change, eat some contracts to get deadbeats off the books. Maybe he has already run the numbers and the NPV justifies a "harvest" mentality. Regardless, we are currently at the whim of a draft lottery that we keep relying on for a "rebuild". We are going nowhere unless Lady Luck is on our side. We won a great D man last year, will we get lucky twice?
