Havent follow him so much, but what I saw, was impressing. Fast reflexes and good fundamentals/edgework. His stats are high quality. Hugo Hävelid at eliteprospects.com

For me, the Hävelid brothers are the top guys at their positions from Sweden. One could argue that Mattias is the top prospect in Sweden for 2022. I think he's in the mix with some forwards (in no particular order):

- Liam Öhgren. His father Andreas Öhren is a well known name, trains NHL players during the summer. Liam is physically extremely advanced for his age. Reminds me a bit of Alexander Holtz in that way, maybe not quite the same goal scoring instincts but I see him as a more complete offensive player. Bigger, better skater and more athletic. Jumped out to me a lot in both international play and at the U16 playoffs.

- Alexander Suzdalev. Smooth playmaking winger with some really nice tools. Good size, great skater, great hands and vision. Plays quite a lot on the perimeter however.

- Noah Östlund. Plays both center and wing. Smallish but excellent skater. William Nylander or Jack Hughes would be solid comparisons.

- Jonathan Lekkerimäki. Worst of these players at the moment but I personally think he's the most talented one. Best hands, best shot and best playmaker along with Suzdalev. He's just physically far behind. Lekkerimäki has that awareness on the ice that very few players have. I see him as a Pettersson/Marner type player, not sure he has that really high built-in compete level though.

Far too early to say how these will compare to other players in a draft 2 years from now. I'm sure other names will pop up along the road. Didn't like what I saw from Odelius this year after a good start, he's still a name to look out for.

I'd be hard pressed to not include Ludwig Persson, & Simon Forsmark in those conversations. But like you said, still 2 years left and a lot can happen.

Big fan of Lamoureux's game. Nice floor with his defensive game and lots of room to grow offensively with his skating and intelligence

Yes, at least Forsmark would fall into that group. Was more thinking about the 04's.

2022 prospects selected in the CHL Import Draft:

33 C Brad Lambert – Saskatoon Blades (WHL), 2003-12-19
41 F Alexander Lazarev – Rimouski Oceanic (QMJHL), 2003-10-21
50 F Maxim Barbashev – Moncton Wildcats (QMJHL), 2003-12-18
52 LD Pavel Mintyukov – Saginaw Spirit (OHL), 2003-11-25
54 RD David Jiricek – Spokane Chiefs (WHL), 2003-11-28

Lambert is the obvious one that everyone's 99.9% sure won't report and the Blades admitted as much. What about the rest? Any info on them both in terms of potential and likelihood to report?

Mintyukov played as 15-16 yo in the MHL, scored 5 points in 6 games at WHC-17 as a D, being 1 year younger, than other players.

Lazarev scored 70 points in 40 games for his U18 team, being 15-16 yo, but that team played in the 2nd worst Russian U18 league, which was pretty terrible.

Thanks. Do you know why Mintyukov wasn't at the U17 5 Nations despite being a productive player at the WHC-17? Was he injured?

3 names I missed; James Swan, F (HAL) whom I believe will play in the Q this year. Justin Cote, F (DRU) is very small but one heck of a goal scorer. Maybe the next Cole Caufield? Is slated to start on the first line with Xavier Simoneau. Last one Alexander Lazarev the import with Rimouski. He isn't in America yet but I just noticed he is a 2022 prospect so wanted to include him.

Wasn't Jake Rozzi more highly regarded in the past.

Has he dropped off or have others passed him.

Waaaaay too early to put up a list like that... I would say half of the top 50 will no longer be in the top 50 come draft day.

Nonsense. It's a watch list and there is nothing wrong with putting some names out there. These players will be drafted in less than two years. Also, everybody understands that there will be some changes/fluctuation. It's part of the process of evaluating these players -- who by the way, are already being scouted by NHL teams.

I've made my first list for 2022. It was harder to be as informed about this list as I'd like to, so a few of these players I know very little about. If I got a position wrong for a player, please correct me, so I can know in the future. There are only a few though that I wasn't sure about their position. I usually like to make my first list in November of the D-2 season, but had to wait until March because I didn't know enough about the draft class in November.

2022 Draft List Top 64:
