If 20 is not available, pretty sure 21st might be.
Pittsburgh has a 1st but nothing before the 4th round and they have to start thinking about the future a little

With that pick, I hope they try to move up to 25th.
Toronto has only a 1st, 3rd and 7th round pick in this draft, they might be interested to have more picks.

If they can walk out of the Bell Center with 3 actual 1st rounders, it would be cause for celebration.

And I can imagine the jubilation if Habs trade one of their more valuable roster players to get another 1st round pick and leave Day 1 with 4 first round picks.

Then again, I wouldn't mind trading that roster player for a 2nd round pick + a prospect who is ahead in his development.

Thank the hockey gods for New Jersey, who has been the most active organization pumping out these draft & combine videos.

With the 33rd pick in the NHL draft the Montreal Canadiens select...Lane Hutson.

Wright, Nazar and Hutson would be unreal

i guess quinn hughes is the only small D i can think of - who else is there? is this kid considered the next Hughes?
Torey Krug is tiny. Adam Fox and Cale Makar are both like 5'10"-5'11"
Lane Hutson still looks like a baby, he's not gone growing yet. If he were 5'10" with his skillset and IQ would he suddenly be more appealing? I don't see how an inch makes any difference. You can't teach what he has.

edit: a few others that popped in my head:
Jared Spurgeon
Tony DeAngelo
Sam Girard
Matt Grzelcyk

There are more I am sure.

well I stand corrected. didnt realize Cale or Fox were sub 6'0" .. Krug whatever.

but, you can't keep saying "an extra inch". What does 1" mean? IMO, each inch possesses at least an extra 5-10lbs of weight (proportionate), so it is considerable. and in a game of "inches" that can have a big effect. Soccer OTOH really doesn't matter, RB in football, baseball no big deal. Basketball huge, hockey would be a distant second.

Just put 5 bucks down on Slaf and 2 bucks down on Cooley for the Habs at 1st Overall.

If Bob's list has any of the two at #1, then those odds will get worse so decided to do it now.

Someone please explain to me Lian Bischel. Why is he now a top15 pick in some mocks? Isn't he just another big pylon with no puck skills?

Hes been playing good minutes in a mens league and he has been a really good D for them. Hes super aggressive in all facets of the game, has soft hands and his shooting is hard. Hes similar to Chiarot, would you take a gamble on a guy like Chiarot at 17? Theres untapped potential.

At best you get an unicorn gamechanging player, at worst you get a guy that will slit in your bottom 4 and play physical and sound D.

He has great mobility, hits like a truck and a boss in his own zone. Has some raw offensive tools including a bomb of a shot. Skating in the SHL at 17 like he did while playing 2nd pairing minutes at time is quite impressive. A rock defensively, a physical specimen + some raw offensive tools should make him a top 20 pick in this draft.

Only 5 bucks? Not really worth talking about it. You dont want to know my stake...
