Lytton setting a record again, is sad, all things considered. This is a valley that works as a natural heat sink. All the heat in the region sinks right into that exposed valley and stays there, with very little shade cover, and well none now that everything burned down.

such a beautiful area
So sad
Heart breaks for anyone affected by the fires and heat

Its a feels like 37C. Hopefully they are wrong on that. Theres about 4 water taps in the whole concourse. They probably shut those due to Covid.

The giveaway should be free bottles of water but no way they do that..

We were in one of the soccer tournaments at commonwealth on a day it was 30C and mid day, all the stands were baking. The bowl seems to take in the heat and keep it there. frying ants effect.

This is an early start only because its a doubleheader. The 8pm slot would have been better.
Those 4 water taps will probably be trickling with warm water. Seems like that's always the case at events. Right next to a frosty tub full of 5 dollar bottled water. I'm glad I picked the west side of Commonwealth for my season tickets with the sun blaring on the east. In cooler months though, I can see the west side being a problem to keep warm.

I prefer the 5PM starts on Saturdays, but with this upcoming forecast and seats on the East, I would have been glad of it this time.

I've been to Cartwright in Labrador, my wife and I stayed at a lil road house inn/motel place there and the people who ran the place were so friendly and kind. East Coast Labrador is so beautiful to drive along and the seafood......is such a party in your mouth you'd think Jesus is having his 2nd coming.

f*** Happy Valley though. That place is so misnamed is should be sued, one of the most miserable towns we've ever been to

Just in time for the long term forecast to be a clear and consistent 20 degrees with overnight lows in the single digits lol

You're still gonna need it in the long haul. Every year is gonna be the hottest year moving forward.

Yep we had this unit for 17 years so it was due for a crash and burn. Stupid on us for waiting for it to fail rather than being proactive and just replacing it after its 15 year predicted life span expired 2 years ago. Going from AC to no AC in this humid heat has been an experience I don’t wish to repeat.

View from my house last night…

Not sure I even like living in the Okanagan anymore. I spent a dump load of money putting in a pool and I don’t even want to leave my basement anymore because of all the smoke and fires. And it’s every year now! I lived here for five year like 20+ years ago and we had one fire and it was a big deal, now it’s just the way it is sadly.

Edit: For frame of reference. I’m in the Upper Mission in Kelowna. To the right of the fire is West Kelowna. Left of the fire down at the lake is Peachland and far left of that is Summerland.
