Thanks. Shouldn't harm the plants at all. heh, not taking any in now. We're just being hit in South side now. Not too bad actually. Not even strong winds here yet.

I dunno. I think if they give over advisory all the time its less than helpful. All these warnings and this seems nothing. Just a summer storm.

We had marble sized hail here in the spring and not even a weather advisory. Go figure.

I brought them in only because someone mentioned the possibility of ping pong sized hail(!)

Luckily none of that came to pass. The storm has passed now. Definitely wasn’t as bad as I expected

Very dangerous winds will produce some damage: Well-constructed frame homes could have damage to roof, shingles, vinyl siding and gutters. Large branches of trees will snap and shallowly rooted trees may be toppled. Extensive damage to power lines and poles likely will result in power outages that could last a few to several days.
[TBODY] [/TBODY]

Interesting how this has sneaked right into the wind scales now when for decades the limitations of this product were serially down played. Not anymore I guess. Reality kicked in. Yeah, vinyl siding is very subject to damage and increasingly in new climate normals.

Spend extra, and get better siding. Funny how this product wiped out things like Hardie board or various cement boards or stucco, or brick, etc, all of which won't fly away with the wind...

I'd go to the extent that a vinyl siding house is not "well constructed" but hey, cheap ass current building standards.

We have a lovely 298 Air Quality Index reading today in the interior. So basically don't breathe. Thought I was done with the mask, but glad I have a bunch of good N95 respirators with me.

The lawn has been on continual life support for at least a month now. Since those heat waves we were getting. I keep saying one of these years, no more lawn. Do over projects in front yard. Already got the back yard sorted. Watered 3 times this week and you'd hardly know it. its so dry out there its killing the ants..

I switched my yard to artificial turf in June. Best decision since it’s zero maintenance.

Wouldn't these things happen to a grass lawn as well?;)

Grass lawns kind of absorb stuff like feces. On artificial lawns it cakes in dries up and you have to power wash the crap out of there..lol

Lawns generally are somewhat forgiving, don't cost anything too much, and why people have them. Might plant a couple fruiting trees on one side where its dry anyway. Thing to do list..

Might I suggest some cacti to poke the dogs and cats in the ass when they try to take a shit there...

Thistles would do just as well and they grow here,

Interestingly its the one weed that I've managed to get rid of. I mean completely eradicate. Its kind of ironic.

I mean them thistles grow up and be "like hey I'm the kingshit of weeds, I can grow like a friggen tree, other weeds be eating my f***ing shade., suck on my roots" I mean these things look like monsters, and complete with the thorns.

But one year I'm just like die motherf***ers, I'm taking you out, and the funny thing is because these things are so big their roots come right out, intact, the whole damn thing. So that the plants being so damn strong is their downfall. You can eradicate thistle just by hand, just pulling it out. Can never do that with other weeds.

Now I would have to seed thistles. Maybe around the perimeter of my front property. Actually thick blackberry brambles would be nice, heh

I find that a healthy lawn will choke out the thistles. We have a huge property and normally don't have issues with them but i noticed after the grass died back temporarily from the extreme heat we had, I've noticed quite a few around the yard.
