Not that I think “tanking” is an issue but at the same time I wouldn’t necessarily hate something like that either. Incentivize winning so I & others don’t have to sit here around this time wishing my favorite team losses for the sake of draft position.

But winning is inherently incentivized - that's what the fans want, that's what makes the fans happy, that's (partially) what keeps your players satisfied. When a team tanks, it is in order to get better and start winning in the future, to give yourself a chance at championships. I think people lose sight of that fact. Temporarily losing isn't the end of the world, and it doesn't illegitimize the sport or something. It cycles the teams at the top (or should, with competent management) and keeps hope alive.

13th pick heading into the Lotto.
Do they have the 14th best odds to move up in the lottery, or 13th. I ask because if I am not mistaken the Flyers are actually 14, but move up to 13 since the Coyotes lose their pick. Knowing the NHL they would do something stupid like keep the Coyotes in the lottery and if they win and move up their pick is a FF in the new spot as opposed to just not having them in the lottery.

No idea, but you have to factor in the Kraken as well.

Also, according to tankathon, the Coyotes will remain in the draft lottery, and if they were to win there will be a re draw. This means the Flyers have the 14th best odds, not 13th. The new rules for the lottery also suck considering they are going from doing 3 picks to only 2.

Wasn't that MacTavish who took those two stupid penalties in the third period of the GM game - #23 I think? I wasn't crazy about him in that game, but that's the only time I watched him.

Svechkov is really good, but yeah probably more solid than star.

Surprised he had Clarke over Edvinsson after all of the drooling in the tournament.

Svechkov is indeed good but probably picked in the teens. He would be more of a mild reach into the top 10 than an outright impossibility (or stupidity) like L'Heureux would be.

I was also surprised to see him pick Clarke over Edvinsson based on his comments. Maybe it was Clarke scoring more at the U18s that made him hedge his bet?

Yes, that is a bad list. I have to say Edvinsson is overrated by a lot of people IMO. There is something missing there. Jack Han had a good write up on him that is worth a read.

I'd take Clarke over him everyday, but that is just me and what do I know? I thought Nolan Patrick was going to be good, better than Hischer.

Svechkov is one of those solid 200 foot players. Samuel Helenius and he are a solid step or two below Berniers in that regard, but if you are looking for a 200 foot center they are your guys, and may be over drafted because of that.

Lucius is a good looking C/LW with scoring skill.

Othmann is a good player, but I think I remember reading he has some skating issues which should keep him out of the top 15.
