no idea about the quarantine rules. Is a negative test enough to join the team instantly?

I believe the IIHF rules say that a player needs to spend a total of 6 days (3 days by themselves and 3 days with the team) in quarantine. At least that's what I read in an article about a week ago. No idea if anything has changed since then.

this would mean that at least Gawanke will not be able to play against Italy as Manitoba plays it's last game on sunday.

Very fascinating team. Will be fun to watch and they are definitely in control of their own fate in this group. A top 4 finish should be seen as probable.

If I had a choice, I'd have preferred to see Schütz and Wohlgemuth on the roster ahead of Kastner and Krämmer, but am very glad Eder and Liobl are apart of this thing and am really curious to see old buddies Rieder and Kuhnhackl on the international stage.

PS) I don't think anyone on the current team would have been as good in front of the net as Schmölz. I would have liked to have seen him on this team, even if just as a 4th liner who has a PP role in front of the net.

Any idea about the lines?

Well, if Toni is about tapping in on existing chemistry, he'll likely have the Noebels-Reichel-Pföderl line together.

There'd also be a certain logic to getting Rieder and Kühnhackl together.

I'll be particularly interested in seeing who Loibl, Eder, Eisenschmid, Peterka, and Fischbuch line up with. And Plachta will naturally have a top nine, if not top six, role.

Bruckmann will start in goal against Italy. The starting roster is available here but line combinations I could not find.

e: Thanks to @ebergeist for the lines, cross-posted.
