He's going to be the #1 overall pick in his OHL draft and a top 3/5 pick in his NHL draft, he doesn't need to switch the country he plays in to fight for leverage lol. To say "that interview is all you can base his NCAA interest on" is a weird take. What else do you need to know other than the kid literally said his dream is to play NCAA hockey and then a couple months later leaves Canadian hockey to go play in the states. I'm not exactly making any leaps to say at this point in time it's clear he's an NCAA guy[
He is actually going to Kimbal Union to play with his older brother. Most recent article says that he quite simply missed his big bro. But yes someone as talented as him is known already by a lot of NCAA schools, so the move doesn't mean it's absolutely what he wants to do (NCAA), but i can tell you that US prep hockey is a ton of fun and does give a kid a sense of what college hockey, in terms of importance and atmosphere is down South, it can make NCAA seem more attractive. My kid plays prep hockey now after playing AAA in Ontario and he'll tell you its more fun than anything he ever experienced in minor hockey.
