Interested that you have A Brown and Beck as the D+F from Quinte. From what I've seen, Donovon McCoy (D) and Dalyn Wakely (F) are their 2 first round potential guys
agreed for sure was trying to hit on guys that may not have been mentioned on first list but youre correct those 2 are potential 1st rounders as well should have had on final list

Went to the YSE/Oshawa game on Wednesday night and Harrison Ballard and Jackson Edward impressed from YSE. Carson Christy also had a nice assist to set up Nathan Poole for a PPG. There's a lot of talent in the ETA this year

JRC could have 4 D go in the first round or two as well. Van Vliet, Sirman, Buchinger and Nelson are all elite talents, and I think Best will probably go in the first few rounds too.
The way they are playing, only Nelson may go in the first 2 rounds. IMO

I watched yse and NCP tonight. I’ll say the same thing Ballard and especially Edward stood out for me on YSE as did Smyth he’s a great defencmen

Is that Poole the Oshawa kid? He’s a tank solid player down low for sure

Wow the #1 overall draft prospect Adam Fantilli just left his GTHL team (JRC) to go to play prep hockey in the states. He’s playing for who Gens goalie Zach Paputsakis did last year (Kimball Union)

Nothing has been mentioned recently that this decision was made to go to the NCAA though? All that was mentioned is that he wants to play with his brother?

That would be an assumption based off of what he said earlier.. hmm hope ohl is still an option..

If you’re planning to go ohl, you don’t leave the best team in the country (who you’re the captain of) a month into the season to go to the US...

Add in the comments about his dream being to play NCAA hockey and it’s hard to believe he’s going to be an OHL guy. But I guess you never know. Some teams will surely offer him a lot of money to come

You gotta assume that. He did say in an interview in the offseason that his dream is to play NCAA hockey

That interview is all you can base an NCAA motive on. Going to prep school in the states doesn't make his chances for NCAA hockey any different. Ontario Minor Midget hockey is just as likely to play NCAA. Consider the talent that was already offered, and making their way down that road.

The decision to play NCAA hockey only requires a decision to be made in what would be a Mj. Midget season (if you're drafted by an OHL team). That decision being to not report to the team that drafted, and instead focus on the path to stay eligible.

Further more, mentioning NCAA could also be a tactic to entice Schools to show interest when they can, so that he has Leverage come OHL Draft day to choose what team takes him.

Edit to mention that there are plenty of players that went to play for Shattuck St. Mary's that still played CHL hockey once drafted.

He's going to be the #1 overall pick in his OHL draft and a top 3/5 pick in his NHL draft, he doesn't need to switch the country he plays in to fight for leverage lol. To say "that interview is all you can base his NCAA interest on" is a weird take. What else do you need to know other than the kid literally said his dream is to play NCAA hockey and then a couple months later leaves Canadian hockey to go play in the states. I'm not exactly making any leaps to say at this point in time it's clear he's an NCAA guy

He is actually going to Kimbal Union to play with his older brother. Most recent article says that he quite simply missed his big bro. But yes someone as talented as him is known already by a lot of NCAA schools, so the move doesn't mean it's absolutely what he wants to do (NCAA), but i can tell you that US prep hockey is a ton of fun and does give a kid a sense of what college hockey, in terms of importance and atmosphere is down South, it can make NCAA seem more attractive. My kid plays prep hockey now after playing AAA in Ontario and he'll tell you its more fun than anything he ever experienced in minor hockey.

WHOA NELSON! Has a projected 1st overall pick ever left his GTHL/MTHL team to go play prep hockey before? Interesting to see if this is just angling to fall to his desired OHL team.

Jack Hughes was to be #1 but decided on the US Program. Some would say that he was going there all along, and why didnt he play MM year in Michigan? BECAUSE THE GTHL AND SURROUNDING GTA LEAGUES ARE/WERE THE BEST FOR DEVELOPMENT.......

If he truly desires to play with his brother, one wonders if Niagara makes room for his brother on next years roster as a recruiting tool.
