Looks like Belleville will get a big boost next season. Should be a good year if one or both of Sanderson and JBD play down there as well.

Jarventie and Lodin to Belleville next year .. Dorion

Sogaard coming this year when his season is done

Should be interesting to watch both these guys in Belleville next season to see if they can transition their game to NA, Ottawa needs a few more RWers though they have plenty of LWers now.

He's clearly a shooter, but seems he needs someone to set him up, maybe that someone could be L. Brown. They will need another rugged RWer to play with both these guys though to do the dirty work.

That clip is just another recent highlight of his natural scoring ability. Note how he drops back/slows down to get himself a receiver lane, resulting in a nice sauce that he finished beautifully. Boom Boom just has a knack for scoring goals.

It's really the other aspects of his games that need work, I am glad Dorion plans on bringing him to Belleville in October. Under Mann's tutelage, as a fresh 19 year old he will have the opportunity to learn and play on small ice.

BTW, the Golden Helmet dude was barely back checking. Gave Boom Boom no cause for concern. But the finish looks so effortless just the same.

Yeah it was posted in another thread. This really sucks for the kid. And for us fans.

He seems to have a fantastic attitude so I bet he comes back full strength next year.
Has it been mentioned what the injury is? It looked like knee to me.

This but it’s Lodin to Batherson touch pass to Stutzle

You might want to temper your expectations a bit. Lodin looks good but he is playing in HockeyAllsvenskan not the SHL. He is also 21. It would be great if he becomes a top tier player but he has a long way to go. The step up in competition will be a really good test for him. Hopefully he joins the AHL after his season ends.

Lodin first line center. Ain’t tempering nutin.

Based on Dorion's interview here is the update on the contract status of a few prospects.

Europe
The Sens have had contract talks with Mads Soogaard and he is expected to sign a contract after his season ends.

The Sens have had discussions with Viktor Lodin, Roby Jarventie and Eric Engstrand about joining Belleville next season. As a note Jarventie and Engstrand are signed by their European teams through 2021-2022 so that could create some hurdles about bringing them over. Lodin's contract expires with his European team at the end of the season and his NHL rights expire by June 1st, 2021, so there is a good chance he will sign.

NCAA
Dorion has had discussions with the family advisors for all the UND guys. There wasn't much of an update here but Dorion mentioned that he told all of JBD, Sanderson, Pinto and Kleven to worry about the NCAA tournament for now. No real clarity on which players might turn pro and which might go back for another season.

He mentioned he really like Crookshank's development this season and thought having him turning pro would be best for his development. He said typically they like to wait until college players finish their 4 years before turning pro.

He also mentioned their are some other NCAA guys they need to look at. He didn't mention any by name but the remaining NCAA prospects are Jakov Novak, Johnny Tychonick. Luke Loheit and Todd Burgess. Tychonick just swtiched schools and is finishing his 3rd season in the NCAA so it seems unlikely he would turn pro. Loheit just finished his second season and would likely benefit from another two seasons where he could take on a bigger role. Burgess is 24, has played 5 seasons in the NCAA and his rights expire on August 15th,2021. I don't know if the Sens intend to sign him, maybe an AHL deal but an NHL deal seems unlikely. Novak seems like the only one from that group that could turn pro. He has completed 3 seasons in the NCAA, took on a prominent role with his team, is the leading goal scorer and point producer on his team and is a 2 time Hobey Baker nominee.

Good to see some help coming for Belleville

I hope Jarventie gets another season of seasoning in the Liiga.

I don't think bringing kids over, only to play depth roles in the AHL, is a good developmental strategy.

Why? AHL is a better option for development, you can control the players development yourself and he’d get adjusted to playing a full season on the smaller ice. Not sure why it would be a depth role for him either.
