They seem to have a type(and they do this with centers and defensemen as well), but I'm good with them doing whatever. As much as it's right to say this franchise needs an infusion of a certain trait, deviating from the big board is always a bad idea. They like what they like and it's served them well.

Hughes might not play center at nhl, and some suggest kakko might swap.

I mentioned this in the other thread, but any possibility they would consider using one of their other picks to try and move up? I wouldn’t think so but Madden has always talked in the past about evaluating the value of certain players and having trade up and trade down scenarios mapped out.

I have no idea why this quote was initially deleted from the forum, but I digress. Also, I will not understand this point, because development curves differ from prospect to prospect with certain factors involved. The prospect the Ducks draft could be here next year, in 2020-21 or he could be here in 5 years. I have no idea when the guy is going to show up, just like I have no idea if the Kings player will be in the NHL over the same time frame. But I will leave it to you to make that determination, considering we clearly disagree on the draft being only 5 players deep.

They pulled one of the best players in 2012 with the sixth overall. No one should be flipping out with the ninth overall. We have a top three amateur scouting department. We're good.
