35-7 at the Half. Patriots lead.

Can Brady just Retire and F off already?

Every damn year, he's always here. EVERY DAMN YEAR.

I miss the days of Drew Bledsoe 'cause at that time, any one of the AFC East teams (Pats, Jets, Dolphins, Bills) can make the playoffs and win their division. Parity, I am a big fan of.

Are the Eagles gonna give us the only good game of the weekend? Us Eagles + the points backers sure hope so.

Side note: do my fellow Giants fans here want Haskins? I've admittedly only watch 2.5 games of his. The Maryland and Michigan games and half of the game vs. Washington. My opinion is relatively uninformed, but the guys did go 6-0 and 20 TDs to 2 INTs vs top 25 defenses. Questions is, for a team with so many holes is it worth using draft capital to get up to, say, the 3rd pick?

Hockey is 82 games and then 7 game playoff series.

Football is 16 games.
Having half the league make the playoffs would be ridiculous.

but yes, totally the same thing.

Baseball is 162 game. I cant do maths too. Calling out season game numbers does nothing to validate your logic.

If anything, the more games you play the more data has statistically been applied to correctly weed-out the good and deserving teams from the bad teams, which would be an argument for fewer playoff teams being necessary, not more.

In football, which you correctly pointed out has only a 16 game season (good job there), you get 1 bad call against you, 1 fluke event, and a solid team's season is over due to it being only a 16 game season with fewer playoff teams than hockey & basketball. That is an argument for fairness dictating a few more teams wouldn't be "ridiculous" at all, certainly not compared to the NBA or the NHL.

Sorry but if you think that taking half the teams to the playoffs in a league where you only play 16 regular season games is actually a good idea, I don't have anything more to say to you.

Again, your logic is easily proven badly flawed mathematically, so sure, flip over the chess board and run away.

That's a much easier strategy than explaining why you think it's a "good idea" to take "half the teams to the playoffs in the league where you play 82 regular season games", but doing the same thing in the league with only 16 games is "ridiculous". LOL

Because taking MORE playoff teams from the league with 500% more game data than the league with a tiny data set is mathematically logical (sarcasm).

if the NFL expanded playoffs to 16 teams I would stop watching

thats insane
On the contrary, I think it's vastly more important in an injury plagued league with 16 games per season.

The NFL and NBA do just fine and everyone knows in the NBA no one besides the top 3 or 4 (at best) have a shot at the title. If you can't figure it out in 82 games why give teams who are ~500 a shot to unseat a team that has worked hard all season to remain at or near the top? Where as in football you could be 1 or 2 injuries away from a qb or other key injury and a 6 game skid which is in no way indicative of how talented your roster is, only to close out the season with a 6 game winning streak when healthy.

I'd like to see that format and loathe the bye week as it's the most competitive disadvantage in all of pro sports in the sport in which home field advantage is leaps and bounds beyond the other leagues.

It will be interesting to see if Belichick takes Brady out.

He pretty much never does, which is one of the few stupid things Belichick does. He's never been burnt by it in his career, but Belichick often leaves Brady in football games where the result is already long over.

EDIT: And there you have it. Brady still in, playing in a game they're winning by 27 points with 10 minutes left to play. Completely idiotic.

I'm not sure where you got the idea that I agree with the current playoff set ups of the other leagues. SPOILER ALERT- I am not the one who made those rules.

There has not been 1 good playoff game yet. Expanding the NFL playoffs to 16 teams would pit teams like the Saints/Rams/Patriots against trash teams like the Bengals and Dolphins in round 1. You think that should happen? lol.

At the very least it should happen to be fair to the 3-6 seeds. The bye week is bs and at that point why not just cut the playoffs to 8 teams? Even though unlikely 5 and 6 seeds have won super bowls.

My gut says that if a 5/6 is capable than a 7 or maybe even an 8 can as well.

I wouldn’t trade up for any of this years QBs unless the ask was minimal (which it won’t). I almost wish they could just keep building this draft and Then get our QB next draft. It doesn’t work that way but it would be ideal.

thats exactly what it sounds like my Dolphins will be doing from reports from the past few days

Build up the OL and DL and maybe even trade back to acquire a 2020 pick to have more ammo to get your QB

Vegas already put out the line before this game is over, LOL, I'm not sure I've ever seen that. It's Chiefs -3 and the OVER/UNDER is a whopping 57.5.

My early read on that would be Chiefs & UNDER.

The Chargers had more wins than both Baltimore and New England got stuck with road games and 2 cross country flights.

I agree that LAC got screwed. I think they should have gotten the home game last week

However, I am absolutely not for adding 2 more playoff teams per conference. That is not a good idea.
