A number around here did. Patrick will be a NHL player and probably a solid one in time, but that top-end NHL center that people were claiming was never there.

Who do you think will become the better NHL center, Patrick or Kotkaniemi?
I'd not trade Makar for Patrick right now and I'm pretty sure we'd have picked Patrick with that same lottery pick...so it's very possible that in the end, losing the lottery was winning.

I think Kotka will. Patrick seems J. Stall-esque to me. A good player but definitely not an elite one.

I love Kotka, I don't see huge upside but maybe similar to a guy like Couture? Production wise anyways.

To me this year is skewing scoring numbers, but if it holds add 10-20%. I see Kotka as a 60-70 point offensive prime guy. Not an elite scorer, but certainly top line.

Yeah, the same thing could be said about other skilled players like Jost and Patrick. They should kept them all in their minor leagues to marinate for a few years before playing in NHL.

Would you punish someone with such a flagrant disregard for authority? He does what he f***ing wants, deal with it. I had great fun reading the main board thread on the subject. Hopefully a decent team decide they need some truculence and he gets one last shot.
