Drouin has been good but I love it when MacK has a bit of a grinder puck retrieval defensive player on his wing. Ideally Nuke AND Drouin would play on MacKs wings.

But Rantanen has a health condition where his legs give out if he's not joined to MacKs side.

So Drouin being out for a round may not be the worst thing. Especially at home where Bednar may try to line up MacK against Schiffle. Having a strong defensive conscience on the line is important because Stifler is capable of playing strong defensively and also bringing the offense.

I would think they’d try to put Mack out against Monahan (get him away from Lowry) but keep Mitts up against Scheifele and Connor. Bowness was trying to get Scheifele away from Mitts last game

Thinking back to past games against the Jets at Ball Arena, Bednar has generally favored the strength vs strength matchup of MacKinnon vs Scheifele, in part because Scheifele's line leaks so many chances against. Will be interesting to see what line matchups they go with tonight or whether Bednar will just get MacKinnon out there as often as possible, matchups be damned.
