Heinen-Krejci-Rick
DeBrusk-Wingels-Gionta
Schaller-Kuraly-Acciari

Butch switched JDB and Heinen last night and this move really seemed to reinvigorate Heinen. He had a few sweet setups. I think Heinen and Krejci should be kept together as they both seem to think the game the same way, with Nash being the trigger man.

JDB, while talented, much more fits in the mold of a 3rd line energy guy anyways. The only issue we’ll have when all our forwards are back is to decide what to do with wingels and Gionta. My guess is that they’ll be rotating into acciari’s spot.

I like Heinen with Krejci, too. But, don't sell DeBrusk short.

I don’t think his suggestion had anything to do with Bergeron. I’m guessing it was more about creating three lines that can all score?

Exactly

Marchand Bergeron Pasta is a super line.... They not only have chemistry but also are exceptional individual talents (especially Marchand and Bergeron)

Marchand Nash Pasta works....so you got house money to burn when Bergeron returns.

Krejci and Rick Nash haven't produced as expected .... Stick Bergeron in the middle and lets see what happens

I think the standard 3 lines are already 3 lines that can score.

Krejci and Nash combination has been less than stellar for whatever reason

What would be the worst that happens having Bergeron centering that line and dropping Krejci down to play with Heinen and Backes? (remember this line looked good the short time we have seen them play)

I disagree that Krejci and Nash have been less than stellar. It seems like changing things for the sake of changing things.

Your suggestion is intriguing. One thing I will point out is that when the Bs start facing elite teams, I think it would be pretty necessary to have the top line include Bergy for defensive/matchup purposes. I like that Riley Nash is having a great year, but let's get real, he is no substitute for Bergy defensively or offensively when playing really good teams.

With the smurfs
Bruins are stacked and have great depth.

I have them winning the Cup and would kind of be surprised if they don’t. 2011 vibes.

Evidence is starting to pile up

Marchand and pastrnak 27 points in last 6 games without bergeron...

We can use bergeron to create 3 scoring lines when he comes back. Other teams wont be able to key their top dmen to shut us down

Give bergeron backes/gionta to form our own shutdown line that can score

Let debrusk/heinen battle for icetime with krecji and nash

Riley gets to ride with marchand/pastrnak

Wingles keep kuraly/schaller/accari honest

Its a deep deep deep talented forward group. A cup caliber forward group

with donato signed... if everyone is healthy.... my 23 man roster to start the playoffs as of today

pastrnak/nash/marchand
backes/Bergeron/donato
nash/krejci/debrusk
accari/kuraly/schaller
gionta/heinen

carlo/chara
mcavoy/gryzlyk
miller/krug
mcquaid

with wingles/holden around strictly for depth... Bjork is for sure insured so I don't have him included. czarik/postma are even more depth though.

3 scoring lines... 4 lines we can throw out there against pretty much any matchup we face... carlo really responding well to getting chara back as a partner and moved away from krug. gryzlyk pretty much handling everything thrown at him this season.

of course the pastrnak/marchand partnership is red hot offensively without them looking to Bergeron first.

its depth depth and more depth... this team reminds me of the depth the old 21 league team had in the late 1970s. its Stanley cup quality depth.

Line 2 is dependant upon Donato being the real deal . We shall see soon enough if that is the case . Depth is a great thing to have but so is chemistry . I don’t see Cassidy putting Bergeron with anyone besides Marchand . When the chips are down( overtime ) I want to see Bergeron and Marchand on the ice together.

It will be difficult to figure the forward group out if/when everyone gets back. There will be a lot of players deserving of a spot.

I think they go with the most consistent guys they have.

Marchand-Bergeron-Pasta
DeBrusk-Krejci-Rick Nash
Heinen-Riley Nash-Backes
Schaller-Kuraly-Acciari

That top 9 is really good.

Yeah, that's my bet. Having Donato, Wingels and Gionta lined up ready to go is such a luxury. Different types of players that can fill in for different roles. DeBrusk/Heinen struggling? Throw in Donato. Wingels and Gionta are great bottom 6 fill-ins.

I like the idea of putting Riley Nash on the 4th, talk about depth. If Donato keeps it up then bump Acciari.

I would put Backes as 4th line center

Not a slight to him at all, I think he has been great, but he just plays that style of game well, and is good on faceoffs

Heinen could be a 4th line candidate as well but I just think Backes is better suited to that style

I think we'd be wasting him and/or Kuraly a little bit in that scenario. We'd also be asking Donato to play his off-wing, and Backes to play C where he hasn't always been comfortable.

I could see Acciari being scratched for Wingels or Gionta, but just don't really see another way the top 9 goes.

Good problem to have I guess. This is also assuming we get healthy lol.

But man Donato looks good out there.
