Cassidy didn't play Heinen with Krejci and Donato yesterday and I doubt he will use that combination moving fwd

Marchand Bergeron Pasta
Donato Krejci Debrusk
Heinen Nash Backes
Schaller Kuraly Acciari

When Rick Nash comesback, I would drop either Debrusk or Donato to the 4th line

Yeah, but Heinen has experience playing his off wing, and it gives some extra 2-way presence to that line. Donato and Debrusk on the same line might be hemmed in too much

Maybe Donato...but Debrusk doesn't even play like a rookie anymore. He wins his share of battles along the board

Just looked at next years cap after the chara signing... its surprisingly still very nice

One concern is nearly 4 mill in potential bonuses

I did a mock gm... with a 78 mill cap. I didnt trade mcquaid. I resigned riley nash to a one year at 4 mill. Its high, but i gave him more money for less term. Same with khubodin one year at 2.5

I gave kuraly and schaller 1.35 to bring back our great 4th line

Gave gryzelyck 2 years at 1.8

It all came in at 76.5 mill for a 22 man roster... fill the 23rd spot with a minimum salary. We can afford to bring back pretty much everyone next year

Pastrnak/bergeron/marchand
Heinen/krejci/donato
Backes/nash/debrusk
Accari/kuraly/schaller
Bjork

Mcavoy/gryzelyck
Carlo/chara
Miller/krug
Mcquaid

Rask
Khubodin

At 78 mill cap its tight with a likely bonus spillover
But at 80 mill cap its very affordable

Things are happy in bean town and look to continue for at least another year

I mean, if Rick Nash comes back, I think having Donato on that line would be a better fit. Nash isn't a scoring threat like he used to be, but he is a monster for possession, allowing Donato the freedom to get to danger areas. If they put DeBrusk Heinen or Backes on the 4th line, it could be a lethal lineup in the playoffs.

Not really the thread for this, but can't see them bringing back O.G. Nash with Donato, Heinen, DeBrusk, Bjork, JFK along with Backes filling a spot. Plus, I think he gets 3/$10M easily on the market.

Donato had a nice game last night... good effort.

Like the way he parks his azz in front of the net on the PP . Uncommon for a rookie

Should be interesting to see what Debrusk Krejci Donato can do tomorrow. Hope it clicks

Debrusk krejci donato looked like a legit 2nd line tonight

Heinen is killing me losing the puck left and right causing odd man rushes

If things continue at this rate (with Nash back healthy)

Drop or bench Heinen

Marchand bergeron pasta
Debrusk krejci donato
Nash Nash Backes
Schaller kuraly acciari

Stacked down in the minors as well. Unlikely none of these major ufas will be brought back. I think Schaller and Dobby will be resigned though

I think everyone will be gone except for Dobby

Schaller is gonna get a healthy raise with the year he is having

Can’t make the same mistake Chia did and over pay bottom 6 guys

Save the money for the studs of the future, like Charlie, Debrusk, Heinen, Donato etc

What type of healthy raise? He is making 700k this season.

1.4 million a season x 3 wouldnt be a bad deal

I was thinking closer to 2 million but I could be wrong I’d love to bring him back if the money is right.

I just think someone will overpay him and give him 3rd line minutes hoping his goals and points will continue to go up if given more opportunity

He’s a great PKer, sound defensively, gonna have close to 15 goals playing 4th line

Kind of like Beleskey risk

I think for 2 million x3 he leaves and Bruins likely dont match

But at about 1.4 million , I think thats doable. Kuraly is also in line for a healthy raise. Can lock up these two for 3 million total. Dont have to worry about the 4th line for a while

If riley nash owes it to himself to seeka multi year deal next season... how would fans feel signing joe thornton to a 1 year?

He probably wants a cup before he retires.

A 3rd line of backes/thornton/donato or heinen has a chance to be pretty special. Let the other kid play with krejci/debrusk. Leave pastrnak with marchand/bergeron

Try to break jfk and bjork in when injuries arise

Thats scary deep 3 line depth... and still could have best 4th line in nhl

So what the heck are the lines going to look like if we get Nash and Nash back eventually? You can't take Donato off line 2/3 and you prefer to not put Backes at C vs such a fast Devils team. It seems insane to even type what I'm about to type, but...

Marchand-Bergeron-Pasta
Debrusk-Krejci-Nash
Donato-Nash-Heinen
Schaller-Acciari-Backes

And short shift the hell out of them?

or

Marchand-Bergeron-Pasta
Debrusk-Krejci-Heinen
Donato-Nash-Nash
Schaller-Acciari-Backes

Man this is not easy. I know they say the Pens are deep, but this is silly deep too. How do you keep one of Backes or Rick Nash off line 4? Can't sit Heinen now. He's playing great.

I love playoff time, particularly because the Bruins have a lot of young players. That makes it really exciting as we don't know how they'll perform (I think they'll do fine).

Marchand - Bergeron - Pastrnak
Debrusk - Krejci - Rick Nash
Donato - Nash - Backes
Heinen - Kuraly - Acciari

Chara - McAvoy
Krug - McQuaid (although, I wish Holden had better chemistry with Krug)
Gryz. - Miller

Frustrating that we won't get a chance to see a fully healthy forward group until (hopefully) the playoffs.
