Yeah, I too think it is too early to predict the line up; too many pieces still in play ... expansion draft, entry draft, free agency, development camp, training camp, trades. Food for thought, how many had Carlo penciled into the line up at this time last year?

read this too often, still haven`t heard why? I see a guy who`s tough, likes to drop the mitts which I enjoy, I also see a guy who when the playoffs begin just isn`t someone who`ll chip in one bit. I`ve watched alot of Blues games in recent years as I enjoy watching them play, barely noticed the guy

Williams with Bergeron and Marchand would be such an amazing fit. Just don't see it happening though, and certainly not for only $3 million a year. He's always had a low cap hit in his career, but at 35 years old, this is his last chance at a decent contract. Don't see him taking a pay-cut unless it's for a contender.

My big rules for next year are no 4th line players above the 4th line. Now maybe Kuraly will develop and prove over time he can become a 3rd line player, but he shouldn't start there

And you sure as anything can't have a team that has Riley Nash or Tim Schaller skating anywhere above the 4th line. Sure maybe on rare occasions due to injury, but having a plan which has one there is a losing proposition

Top line, nobody capable.

Middle six. Heinen, Debrusk, Bjork, Cehlarik, senyshyn

With all due respect to the poster Duffy who said Nashville had a better first line I will give you a mulligan

4th line

Kuraly & Accairi and possibly Moore back with Nash

Toss in Anton Blidh

Very good as a group and I would welcome DoMo back with open arms

This line was 50% of the leagues # 1 PK unit clearly lost on many Bruins followers

Lines 2 & 3

A) Krejci & Backes will be here

B) JFK will be the third line center by February at the latest

C) I believe Spooner will be traded

D) Hayes played much better for Cassidy but still a very long shot to be on the team

That leaves Vatrano DeBrusk Heinen Cehlarik will fighting for 2-3 wing spots

Bjork not if but when will be here and would join that group now as opposed to next March

Schaller was a good dependable player and warrented coming back

Stafford likely not coming back

Bottom line is

1. Is DoMo returning

x-can be a 20 goal fa at low cost/term a guy like williams who can slide down if needed for vatrano/heinen/bjork/etc. If Jfk seems likely to earn a 3c role than backes can stay as the vet winger.

I can see most holes being filled by rookies especially with the show Debrusk and heinen are putting on in the playoffs.

Dont spend much unless it is a winning upgrade, a reverse sequin.

If I was an assistant GM and Sweeney asked my take on Beleskey

1. I would not buy him out
2. If someone would take his contract I would do it
3. I expect him to rebound as the 2014-15 Ducks 2015-16 Bruins
4. The third line is where I would play him

Warning sign - how will he get along with Cassidy?

There are a lot of left shot wingers coming along so this is a top 5 on my list to watch at camp

I notice him almost every shift. He's a modern day Shawn Thornton. You must have kept missing the reason why I keep posting this, I've stated multiple times. If you look at the teams that were in the playoffs, almost all of them have a guy like this.

The effect Matt Martin has had on the youth in Toronto has been enormous. Knowing you have a guy like that having your back as a young kid, goes a long way on and off the ice. He's a team builder. Reaves is of the same ilk.

I'm a Morrow guy so I may be seeing what I want to see here but I saw him in Providence a lot and he's got some offensive skills not yet put on display in Boston

If I'm Vegas I have my scouts all over Morrow and Colin Miller and would one be a better pick than McQuaid

McQuaid contract contrary to Bruins followers is not bad and he's got 13 Cup Finals games and is a tough SOB and a strong PK who can play very physical without crossing line

I can tell you a sit right in back of net periods 1 & 3 and the opposition is very respectful of #54 and aware of him

If I'm Sweeney I want to retain him and hope they take Colin Miller

Vegas can select McQuaid and flip him if he's healthy at the trade deadline

Toronto was good because they got a borderline generational talent, marner, and a more mature Nylander. As well as a top pairing defenseman in Zaitsev. Martin's bad contract had nothing to do with it.

That's too short sighted. Ask the players and Babcock what they think of Martin. They know.

But maybe you're right. They just brought him in to eat up cap, nothing else.

That might be a little too young. The only veteran winger you have there is Marchand. And then more kids on defence. And leave you with more than $15M in unused Cap Space.
I'm excited to see what kids make it over the next two seasons but don't think they have to rush too many in at once.

I kinda hope Sweeney trades for two wingers with one or two years left on their contracts - allowing the kids call-ups and more time to develop. Rick Nash is $7.8M but only has one year left. E. Kane is $5.25 with one year left. Kovalchuk could be an option if he's willing to sign for two years. and a few others.

You are correct that Martin had some impact.

But make no mistake the main reasons for Toronto's improvement were Matthews, Marner, Nylander, and Zaitsev
