It's weighing out do you take a 1-year and perform well/flounder or do you take a long term deal you're not comfortable with.

Unless one of these teams breaks the bank then it's moot.

Cespedes' health should be fine in 5 years. Teams probably just don't want to commit the big time money to him for that long because his stats have never been elite.

The team’s offer to Cespedes is said to be for less than the Tigers gave Upton. But Nats ownership is intrigued by Cespedes, sources said.

Cespedes isn't elite with the bat, but he's good. He's great defensively. Still find it funny Detroit paid Jupton so much for so long.

Yeah but outside of 2015 season Upton's bat is better than Cespedes' by decent margin.
