Cowen - Karlsson - can these two become a dynamic tandem, that is the question?
Wiercioch - Methot - young guy with a mentor
Phillips - Gryba - young guy with a mentor
Boroweicki is the spare defenceman & Ceci is sent to Bingo to play big minutes with Claesson in all situations giving Ottawa two NHL ready defenceman ready to call up.
Anderson - Lehner
Big fan of those pairings
Cowen - Karlsson can be our Seabrook - Keith, just let them play together and they will build that chemistry we need them too.
Wiercioch already learned his offensive instincts from being mentored by Gonchar, if he can incorporate some of Methots game before he leaves for UFA, Wiercioch with his size, and skill can likely crack the top third of defence men in the league.
I do disagree with the forward pairings
MacArthur - Turris - Chiasson - some size & muscle on this line
Michalek - Legwand - Ryan - some much needed secondary scoring
Hoffman - Zibanejad - Stone - the Bingo line also needs to be a scoring line
Greening - Z. Smith - Neil/Condra - the energy line
Chiasson would be put in a good position to succeed up their but I much prefer Bobby, Stone, or even Zibby for Turris' wing. I also don't think Chiasson and Turris are a good fit.
Having Lazar in the line up and Condra waived to the minors if he is not claimed is essentially the same thing as having Lazar playing in bingo while Condra is up.
Zibanejad will likely be ahead of Legwand on the offensive depth charts if Paul Maclean has any brain cells left.
MacArthur - Turris - Stone , Proven to work, provides needed primary scoring
Michalek - Zibanejad - Ryan two legit wingers, nice and big very hard to shut down.
Hoffman - Legwand - Chiasson Young players get much needed mentoring, and can be used as a third scoring line
Greening - Smith - Neil/Lazar Lazar gets his feet wet, Smith gets a capable winger.
Lazar still gets a lot of games since he will slot in if there are injuries to any of the forward positions.
Condra Waived
