@Aportzline: Canucks GM Mike Gillis just walked out of the Galaxy Diner in Midtown with a player the #NYR drafted and that player's father.
Tamby?
He's literally stealing us another prospect.

All 3 would likely make the WJC too if they're actually available and not with the Canucks.
Subban should get invited to camp to, and could make it as a specialist.
There's always been the question of Gaunce's offense and how much of it was because he's just a bigger dude dominating the competition. How would you say Horvat and Gaunce compare? The question's been asked a few times today and I've had trouble trying to come up with a good answer. Similar players but Horvat superior in practically every aspect except maybe shot and size?
I can see that. Not a full rebuild but perhaps a re-tooling, a re-defining of the core players perhaps.I think the Canucks quietly started a rebuild today.
Sure feels nice for the Canucks to have one of the better drafts. It's been awhile since there was something positive to say about almost all the picks.
Where have you been!? You and Tiranis, some of our more knowledgeable posters about the draft gone on draft day! What is this blasphemy?
From CoHo to BoHo.
Still ponder that trade to this day.
hey man its one letter higher. if we can find outselves an aoho we're set
Was nice not being around for it and just catching up after the fact (I looked for the first time after we picked Subban). Feel like it gave me a bit of a cooler head to evaluate with.
I honestly believe Gillis is trying to build a team that is good enough to make the playoffs year in and year out while hoping that one year it all just clicks and things go our way.
Yup.
Huge reason why I'm not angry about trading Schneider.
Please be our version of Richards and Carter.

I'm glad we don't have Nonis in charge. Gauthier... Rest of the draft looks poor too.
Since I'm just catching up: not suprised Dano went in the 1st, figured somebody would have him rated higher. Surprised where Erne and Zykov went.
You should have seen how crazy it was when Shinkaruk fell to us. Everyone was freaking out that Gillis might not take him.
