That was an interesting mock IATL. I think those trades are actually pretty realistic. I don't think Florida would pass on Jones though, just a hunch.

I like this mock draft... so much hope and optimism mixed with the pessimism of reality. :)

i think it would be a fun idea to put in top 10 players drafted and in what order. no trades or hypothetical just at which spot each player gets picked.

Feaster says they would consider it a factor if the player they wanted at six wasn’t going to come over right away.

Ya..so this pretty much means they're going to take Monohan if Carolina doesn't take him first. I hope we move up somehow. I really want him.

I hope we can trade up. I definitely don't want Calgary taking him.

Reason why I have an issue with Calgary taking Monahan is that I think Lindholm and Nichushkin are better players.

That's going to make me more sad when MacT steps up and drafts Nurse.

Well this actually shows that they are interested in an overseas player and unless he doesnt want to come over right away they will pick him..
Lindholm is the man for them if he is ok with coming over.

I kinda think we take Lindholm if Monahan is gone. He agrees that center is a priority. And Lindholm could turn out be great, Zetterberg-lite. I'm just worried he turns out to be Gagner 2.0.

I hope your right. Wouldn't it be best for Lindholm to develop another year in Sweden anyway? Sounds like the 2007 draft when we drafted Gags and brought him in the league fairly quickly. Is there a Hossa/Heatley for Calgary to chase now? :sarcasm:

While I want Monahan, I won't be sad with Nurse either. Having Klefbom, Schultz, Nurse, Marincin, Musil and Gernat as prospects... all of a sudden we're one of the most, if not the strongest team for defensive prospects.

Maybe but Monahan sounds like he could be NHL ready, and his only options are Jr and NHL if I'm not mistaken.

The think with Nurse is that he isnt really a clear cut 2nd best Dman this draft.
Some have Zadorov ahead of him, McKenzie has Ristolainen..
Unless they have scouted the heck out of him and are confident that he can overcome his lapses it is better to pick a forward...
Especially in a deep draft like this where a guy like Hagg or Morissey might be available in 2nd.

I'd be happy with those three picks if by some miracle we retain them.

Edmonton tweeting some Sean Monahan quotes and a picture of Monahan surrounded by Millhouse and Co.

Sean Monahan tells us he was in Edmonton a couple of weeks ago for a tour and a visit, including a stop at Daryl Katz's home. - Tencer

This means they'll probably not take Lindholm as he has stated that he'll stay at least one year in the SHL(as it is now named).
So yeah my guess would be Monahan. Or they are putting pressure on Lindholm to come over straight away. Which imo would be a mistake. I think he'd do fine but for his development it's probably better to stay one year and hit PPG in Sweden as Brynäs #1C.
