If Edmonton turned out with Monahan, Hartman and Jarry, I'd all day long.
Hartman will go before 37
And make just one pick in the 1st four rounds of what some consider to be one of the deepest drafts in the decade?
I don't know if that's a great idea for a system that's top heavy on stars on the big club, decent in okay d-prospects, and virtually bereft of everything else. Not good for the pro-squad now, not good for cap construction, and really not good for our developmental program.
I haven't watched much of Dauphin outside of prospects game and under 18 but I've read lots about him and people seem to love him. I've read comparisons to Giroux and people claiming he will be steal of the draft etc
According the scouting reports he needs to add weight but thy love his skill and his tenaciousness
They say the purpose of knowing history is to learn from it, so I have the five worst 1st round picks since 2000. I looked at who we picked and then looked at the five players who were picked after.
2003: Picked Marc-Antoine Pouliot at 22. Could have had Ryan Kesler (23), Mike Richards (24), and Brian Boyle (26). Of course, we also could have had Zach Parise (17), Ryan Getzlaf (19) or Brent Burns (20) if we hadn't traded the 17th pick. This might be the worst draft choke in Oil history.
2004: Picked Devan Dubnyk at 14. Not a bad pick unless you realize that we could have gotten Alexander Radulov at 15 - contract issues notwithstanding.
2004: We also picked Rob Schremp at 25 while we could have gotten Cory Schneider (26) or Mike Green (29).
2000: Picked Alexei Mikhnov at 17. Could have had Brooks Orpik (18) or Anton Volchenkov (21). Would've been nice but I'm not choked about it.
2002: Picked Jesse Niinimaki at 15. Could have had Daniel Paille (20). Nice depth player, but not a big deal.
What's everyone doing for the draft menu wise? It's going to be a long day.
I think I will slow cook a roast of beef and then stick it on the BBQ after saucing it up for the final 1/2 hour.
Probably will go with something easy as a side such as pasta.
I have a good stock of home made wine but I think I'll go buy some beer as well. If it's a hot day Beer will be a must.

Huh?
A top 5 talent; Russian Roulette Factor somewhat responsible for slight fall on draft day. He also had an underwhelming World Junior U18s and questionable combine. He may fall even further than this and possibly out of the top 10 as Mikhail Grigorenko did last year. The Devils, however, swing for the fences and want a home run pick for the hometown audience.
Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't he dominate that tournament according to pretty much everyone?
It's not a bad list. The closer we get to draft day the more I've come to accept that whoever we draft it'll be a great player. That's assuming we don't move down move out of the first round all together.
Just Draft Day count as a stat day?
