Vegas is winning this series unless MAF gets injured.
Speed is such a crucial factor in modern nhl, Vegas as a team is faster than LA

if the hit numbers are accurate, they will start to slow down this is gonna go 6 or 7.

It took the Columbus Bluejackets 8 years to get into the playoffs for the first time. It took them 13 years to win their first playoff game. It's year 17 and they've never pitched a playoff shutout.

Vegas took one year and one playoff game to outdo 16 years of Columbus Bluejackets playoff performance.

-Didnt they pass the Jets too? Well, its still a joke expansion teams have the luxury of just cherry picking players from every team. Vegas get a borderline hall of fame goalie just for entering the league. Lucky them. I cant wait until the next draft when Seattle cherry picks other star players. Well, it will keep Chicago in the basement for a while, they should get comfy down there, they arent leaving last place anytime soon.

...but, but Fleury is a head case and sucks in the playoffs.
He has not received nearly enough credit for his play over the last several seasons: .920+ Sv% 3 out of the last 4 regular seasons.

Playoffs
2013-14 | .915
2014-15 | .927
2015-16 | ---
2016-17 | .924*
Now starting 2017-18 with a shutout.

*He's always an afterthought when people discuss last year's Penguins. Dude played out of his f***ing mind to get them to the ECF. Washington absolutely toyed them.

Anyway... :handclap:

Impressive performance by Vegas. Kings only had a handful of quality scoring chances. Looking forward to Game 2.

i feel the positivity.... but i dunno if id sleep on the knights.

kings were pretty bad tonight. but so were the knights.

I thought Vegas’s looked dangerous throughout, Quick really kept LA in it all night. The Kings generate maybe two good scoring chances all night

But as someone else said, if Brown scores on an empty net we are going to OT right now

You don't have to tell me. I am one of like 4 HF Pens fans that don't think he's the worst goalie in NHL history and cost the Penguins 9 consecutive Cups.

vegas was playing scared for half the game. kings not tying it obviously is the key but they had their chances.

Even though Vegas won playoff quick is back, they don't win another game.

Ya, we're not gonna win with 2 AHL defenders out there who couldn't even hit a fly if it was already dead.
Quick was the only one that showed up tonight.
Vegas played well.

If Vegas can win, and not just win, but get a shutout, with only discarded depth defenders, why can't LA win with their own depth? Besides, I think that it's unfair and a little silly to blame Fantenberg and Ladue when they weren't even on the ice for any goals against. Also, since you're complaining about them not hitting, Fantenberg had the 2nd-most hits of the Kings' defense corps tonight and Ladue had as many hits as Doughty in half the ice time.

99.9% of HF, including me, thought Vegas was going to be terrible. I doubt even William Karlsson ever thought he'd be a 40 goal scorer in the NHL.

The advanced numbers suggest they probably aren’t as good as they were this year. It’s not 2013-14 Avalanche glaring but it definitely suggests they were probably more a 5-7 type seed team than a 1 or 2

its unfortunate people still judge him from that Flyer series, he's come a long way since then, possibly a Vezina candidate this year too. Might be the nicest guy to play in the nhl too, so easy to root for.

Knights get exposed this series, playoff hockey is different than speedy "regular season" hockey

99.9% didn't expect this level of success but I wasn't projecting them to be a bottom 3 team, more in the 6-10 draft pick overall type

But GMs & media have so much more access to in depth stuff that they should've known better and not f***in give up 60 & 70 point players to save plugs like Tallon

Ok. Games aren't won with spreadsheets and graphs. The games they played and won suggest they are a 1 or 2 seed.

Pretty much why regular season series stuff never carries over in hockey. It doesn’t carry over much other than in the NBA
