I don't think he's determined to help a team that has basically tried to undermine his career.

If he didn't seek a second physician's opinion, they would never have fixed his shoulder or even found the real problem. In other words, he's learned to look out for himself now, and has learned that taking matters into his own hand is the only way to deal with an inept organization such as the Blues.

Serious question as I don’t really think anyone aside those very very close to the situation are of full understanding, as I’m pretty sure I am not.

Are you aware of exactly what the discrepancies were between the surgeries that the Blues staff had performed/suggested vs those that were suggested by the third party? It’s something that I’ve been continually curious about as it’s very likely that a situation could’ve occurred where they took a little more risky of a procedure that has a better outcome in terms of range of movement vs a more safer procedure that is more limited. I just think it’s a little tough to call a medical team/organization inept based off of reports that are more than likely half truths unless I just missed where the medical situation had been more clearly outlined.

iirc, the last one actually repaired the tendon (ligament? I get em confused) in his shoulder. which begs the question, what did they do with the 1st 2 surgeries?
buddy of mine dislocated his shoulder (playing hockey of course lol) and tried to avoid surgery and just doing rehab/rest

it got so bad that when he would try to poke check someone, the weight of the stick would pull his shoulder back out of socket

so he ended up getting surgery where they shorten up the stretched tendon (ligament?) by cutting a section out of it and sewing it back together to where its shorter and thus keeping the shoulder tighter and in socket

still plays to this day

All I have read about it is that the first two were done and the third surgery found that there was scar tissue found that was not properly removed ? I know it’s not much detail or what your asking about but really . That’s all I have been able to find out about his surgeries

The shoulder and rotator cuff especially granted that whole area is pretty complex. I know from throwing and having tears in it a lot of the procedures aren’t fully successful granted it could be from a multitude of things.

I don’t think it’s necessarily too uncommon in regards to shoulder surgeries for things to not be fully successful which is why I was hoping that it was more documented what exactly they were trying to fix. However, I’m not as fully understanding of how it goes in a more contact sport such as hockey in terms of success etc

when I dislocated mine (playing hockey lol) I went back to playing too quickly I think. my shoulder wasn't, and still isn't, "right". not a lot of strength in it, cant workout/lift very heavy...etc

went to a Dr and he thought I had torn my rotator cuff. this is fun...

to test that, they stick a needle into the shoulder socket, inject dye, then leave the needle in and attach a hand air pump. then they pump air in and take xrays to see if the dye is 'leaking' thru the cuff while moving your arm/shoulder into different positions..

mine wasn't torn it turns out. Doc says "well.. that didn't work.. what should we try next".. and I said no thank you and never went back

for anyone who has The Athletic at least (or do they have a free trial?) this is super detailed about the various surgeries

Vladimir Tarasenko's return to the Blues: Shoulder specialists see reason for optimism but warn this could be his 'last shot'

And that's why they call it "practicing medicine".

I thought there was no way that Tarasenko would ever put on a Blues Jersey again but it looks like I’m going to be wrong.
I’m a big Tank fan and have always liked the player and hope he comes back and is still effective . I’m still clinging onto hope the Devils get him but it’s not looking good for that to happen .

ya know... now that you mention it...

lol.. yeah it was NOT fun

was dating a gal that went to get acupuncture cause of a previous car accident and she talked me into letting her look at my shoulder

she did some resistance tests and said "well, I don't wanna scare ya, but I know a good surgeon"

basically the way she explained it is there's 2 sets of muscles that moves arms, legs..etc.. around. a primary and secondary. something was (is) pinched in my shoulder and it's cut off my primary muscles and is requiring the secondary to do the work.
makes sense cause my back would get very swollen whenever I tried to do stuff. just like a "pump' you get right after a workout.

Holy crap. This isn't how a rotator cuff works at all...... I hope you are full of shit. If not, you need to see a real doctor.
