Ev4nder on TV postgame interview:
- [on the hat trick] long time coming, 9 years of scoring two goals, it was nice to get 3, it was an important game so it made it even sweeter
- [thinking it was the night after 2 goals?] I think I've thought that for 562 games, tonight was the night, it was an important game, it was kinda back and forth, especially the first two periods, it was great to contribute
- [on his goals] I guess the old saying "when it rains, it pours," the first one I was just trying to get a puck to the tonight and was able to fool the goalie a bit, "Doggy" made a great shot for my stick and I was able to tip it home for the 2nd one, it was a great play by Tierns on the 3rd one, just trying to follow the rebound up and put it home
- [on "playing meaningful games" late in the season] it means everything, before I got to the NHL, I won everything, I was used to winning, unfortunately I haven't had that feeling in a long time, getting traded to San Jose, I got that feeling back right away, it's nice to have again, it's great to be a part of, I'm really enjoying the ride so far
- we knew Calgary was gonna be a desperate team, they were gonna come out strong and hungry early on, for us it's an opportunity to separate us more and more from the pack that's chasing us, huge win, even bigger game tomorrow night against Vancouver to cap it off 3 and 0 and that's what we're focused on right now
Pavelski on radio postgame interview:
- [on Kane] that was fun to watch, he was going all night, he found ways to score in different areas, he got fortunate I think on the first one, got a nice tip around the net on a couple of 'em, it's definitely a special night
- [no more pregame skates for him the rest of the year?] we'll see, we'll see, do whatever he needs to do
- [on winning on the road] that's the biggest part right now is just getting the win, it was a great team effort, we had a lot of guys contribute tonight, same as the other game, definitely Kaner led the way, Joner - a couple of saves he had, they'll be replaying those for a while, the points are so important right now and to keep creating separation is important for us
- [on the 5-on-3 PK faceoff] we try to be a little bit aggressive at time, it was one of those where I felt like I won the draw, it was off the ref's skate, it was bouncing, try to be aggressive early, once you get committed, sometimes you gotta keep going, everyone was kinda there, we didn't give them a whole lot of space, one they got settled down, they were trying to set it up, so we had time to recover
- [later on that PK] it was just one of those positions, you get caught just a little bit on the inside, little bit of desperation there, nice it hit the shin pad and bounced out
