The guy I want moved is Backes, he has to waive his NMC of course, if he does I think he is not as hard to move as some think, big physical forward who goes to the net, some team(s) will still value that, he can play center or wing I think they could move him, but they have to do it without $$$ retained otherwise not much use to trade him.

I think Backes is a great guy and would do anything for the team. That being the game has passed him by. Can't play in today's NHL hence why I refer to him as Back Aches. Terrible signing by Sweeney. Every GM makes good/great moves and also make bad/horrendous moves, this one falls into the horrendous category.

Bruins should look into acquiring R smith B Connolly and C Miller.
I am a Claude Julien supporter but he tailored these players talents to his system and all 3 are better just playing the game with some structure but not rigid that Claude's system called for.

All 3 were scratched by Claude along with Blake Wheeler.

The Bruins should be in the middle of a 7 or 8 Cups in 10 year window.

Cam was right
Don had no idea what he had due to what these players were asked to do here and gets mulligans on the Smith deal, the Miller being left unprotected and not tendering Brett Connolly

Seguin 1 goal last 22 games with Claude

I know this is crazy, but I was just thinking this morning I wish we had got to see Zac Rinaldo on Cassidy's Boston Bruins.

Result probably would have been the same and I definitely wouldn't go out and bring the guy back to find out, but a small part of me wonders if the uptempo, play below the dots style of Cassidy would have got a little more out of him than Claude's expecting every forward to be a 3rd defenseman style did.

Were not talking about the same thing here, or even the same Miller. (It was re: Colin).

The question for me is where Grizz projects offensively down the road. He appears to have all the tools to be a successful PMD that puts up points in the NHL, but didn’t this year.

He’s quicker and a better skater than Krug. I would put the decision making in the same range, maybe slight edge to Grizz. Krug is thicker and has a better shot, but he’s also more mature.

If Grizz got the PP minutes that Krug currently gets, does he put up 30-40 points?

I can see 30 for sure. He's as good a passer as Krug, more consistent albeit a little less creative.

He doesn't have Krug's big slapper but sometimes I think Krug himself could do more with less using wristers more often, so the drop in goals directly off the D-man's stick would go down, but actual PP goals stagnant if not increased via tips, deflections, rebounds, etc.

for what it's worth:

As much as I'm a Krejci fan, upgrading to Tavares would be gigantic.

I realize this has like a .00001% chance of happening but a guy can dream.

This is why this guy is viewed now as an unreliable source. That tweet wasn’t anything more than a clickbait “give me likes and retweets”.

Let’s remeber the time that moron signed up a new account named “TheGumperLives” to troll us here.

so we're just ignoring the 2 years Reilly Smith spent in Florida where he scored at a .54 ppg rate...which is WORSE than the .56 ppg he had in Boston under Claude?

also we are crying about losing Colin Miller (41 points, -4, 61% ozone start)...but are trying to dump Krug because he is a sheltered specialist? what?

we are also ignoring that Miller is auditioning for "The Invisible Man" these playoffs...3 points in 15 games

Brett Connolly Im not even gonna get in to. People were couldn't run him out of town fast enough when he was here. Dont pull this disingenuous "oh, what a loss" bullcrap now to fit your agenda. People tripped over themselves to slam Chia for giving up 2 2nds to get him

and FYI...he isn't exactly lighting the world on fire in Washington with his 27 regular season points and whopping 6 points in 19 playoff games

Well, when you put it that way. Are you glad we have nothing to show for any of these players?

From Seguin trade: Reilly Smith + Cap Dump for Jimmy Hayes
From Lucic trade: Miller expansion
From Boychuk/2nd's trade: Connolly not qualified

Better decisions with these players could have at least lead to some asset exchanging or perhaps something that's still tangibly here.

The Lucic trade brought back Miller, Martin Jones and the #13 pick in '15.

Miller may be gone but the pick is here (Jakub Zboril) and Jones was pretty much immediately flipped for Sean Kuraly and their first in '16 (Trent Frederic)

Funny he leaves out the biggest parts of the Lucic deal..... Anything to prove a point. 2/3 players weren't even original Sweeney deals. I would bet my house and savings on it that if Sweeney was GM of the Bruins when Seguin was here, Seguin would still be here.

There is literally no chance of this happening. We would need to pay him with money we don’t have and money we will need to resign our young stars next year.
