At this point Finnish roster looks like this:

Laine-Barkov-Rantanen
Lehkonen-Koivu-Granlund
Aho-Filppula-Teräväinen
Komarov-Haula-Jokinen

Lehterä, Armia will fight for fourth line spots and Pulju will fight against Rantanen.

Lindell-Ristolainen
Määttä-Vatanen
Jokipakka-Nutivaara

Juolevi, Honka will fight for roster spots

Rask
Rinne
Saros

Juolevi has stalled pretty bad this year. Doubt he makes it unless something significant changes

Pajic is a name I frankly haven't heard in a long time. Slovenian league guys don't get in either because their league is like a beer league. Ziga Pance and Miha Verlic will definitely be there. Not sure if the Rodmans will be in play but we'll see. Problem with Slovenia is age, not a single forward on the usual team under 25, and the two D who are 24 and 22 aren't very good though Repe might have a future. We'll see what becomes of Drozg and Simsic, I think they should consider calling Simsic up for the Olympics.

Jokinen, Donskoi, and Lehterä all playing like $$$$. I hope they don't make the team if NHL players happen to participate.

I would replace Filppula with Aho and put Pulju on that line, and replace Haula with Filppula.

TT-Aho-Pulju
Komarov-Filppula-Armia

I agree with this. Although Lehkonen could take Komarov's spot and Rantanen could play RW in Koivu's line. Then add Pulju LW to first, I have faith in him.

Would love to see how Granlund bros would work together with Koivu especially when the younger one has shown signs of progress in theCanucks.

1. MaG - Koivu - MiG
2. Aho - Barkov - Teräväinen
3. Laine - Filppula - Rantanen
4. Komarov - Haula - Armia
(Lehkonen / Puljujärvi / Jokinen / Lehterä)

Määttä - RR
Lindell - Vatanen
Lepistö - Honka
(Nutivaara / Jokipakka / Juolevi)

Rask
Rinne
Saros
(Raanta / Lehtonen)

Bolded players should play PP + Honka, if Vatanen repeats WCup kind of performance.
Underlined will handle PK.

Players between 2nd & 3rd line could be swapped with different ways, but for the Koivu and Haula line I would give time to adapt, if their chemistries doesn't click right away.

This team won't probably win gold at 2018, but it will be much closer in 2022. And for the 2026 olympics, I say we should have the best team Finland ever participating at olympic stage. Better than 2006 silver medal team.

At 2026 several key players should be at their prime:
Barkov ~30 yo (drafted 2nd overall)
Laine ~27 yo. (2nd)
Puljujärvi ~27 yo. (4th)
Aho ~28 yo
Rantanen ~28 yo (10th)
MiG ~33 yo (9th)
Armia ~31 yo (16th)
Teräväinen ~31 yo (18th)
Kapanen ~30 yo (22nd)
Borgström ~27 yo (23rd)
Tolvanen ~26 yo
MaG ~32 yo
Haula ~34 yo
...
RR ~31 yo (8th)
Määttä ~31 yo (22nd)
Honka ~30 yo (14th)
Juolevi ~27 yo (5th)
Välimäki ~26 yo
Lindell ~30 yo
Vatanen ~34 yo
Heiskanen / Vaakanainen both around 26 yo.

Saros ~30 yo
Korpisalo ~31 yo

U.S.A roster

Gaudreau-Pavelski-Kane

Pacioretty-Matthews-Eichel

JVR-Stepan-Kessel

Tkachuk-Kesler-Wheeler

Parise, Galchenyuk

The reason I put Tkachuk on LW instead of Galchenyuk is because of how pissed off that line would make other teams. Absolutely perfect grinder/agitator line, lots of drawn penalties I'd assume and almost impossible to strip off the puck. I'd swap Galchenyuk with JVR throughout the tournament (never been a fan of JVRs play)

Suter-Big Buff

McDonaugh-Shattenkirk

Faulk-Carlson

Werenski, Jones

If we could have a 4th D pairing we'd be ****ing unstoppable, but we don't so Werenski and Jones will have to prove they're better than the six above them.

Bishop, Schneider, Quick are the obvious goalies (Schneider probably takes it in 2018)

I'm really liking how hard it is to pick this team now. Couple years ago it would have been cut-and-dry, but there's so much talent coming from the States now that you actually have to think about who to take. The fact that Ghost Bear, Trouba, Fowler, Krug, Carlo, Leddy, and Hanifin are all passed shows how deep our defense is getting. I think this team can compete with Canada next olympics, and may actually be the favorite by 2022.

Lol.

Marchand-Crosby-Stamkos
Benn-McDavid-Seguin
Tavares-Toews-Giroux
Scheifele-Bergeron-Carter

The fact that Marner, Drouin, Couture, Duchene, Stone, Huberdeau, Getzlaf, Johansen, Simmonds, Hall, MacKinnon, O'Reilly, Monahan, etc (ridiculously much etc.) are all passed shows how deep our offense is getting.

Doughty-Burns
Keith-Pietrangelo
Brodie-Weber

The fact that Parayko, Ekblad, Subban, Giordano, Vlasic, Letang, Hamilton, etc. (very much etc) are all passed shows how deep our defense is getting.

Price-Holtby

The fact that Murray, Dubnyk, Talbot, Jones, Crawford, etc. are all passed shows how deep our goaltending is getting.

And it's not as though there's sudden, spontaneous American talent coming, either. The NHL BoG is almost exclusively American. They realize that it is far more expensive to play hockey as a young child than it is to play football, baseball, basketball, or soccer. So, much of the NHL's time and money is spent on growing the game and ability to play the game in the southern states. Meanwhile, in Canada (and admittedly other parts of the States), we are forced to rely on halfhearted corporate sponsors. What do they think, that hockey equipment grows on trees here? I couldn't believe my ears when, at the last draft, the commentators were surprised about the amount of very, very good players coming out of St. Louis. It's a sick joke, and yes, I am VERY salty about it all.

The depth of Canada is ridiculous at all positions. Canadian "D" team could win the tournament theoretically and it could definitely win a medal. It's absolutely insane.
