Stamkos - Toews - McDavid would be a hell of a line...

I would like to see a line of McDavid, Crosby, and Toews - what a line that would be. If Canada needs to score, throw this line out there and they will.

Zibby as 3rd center, Zetterberg can be there for leadership, but he has regressed even more this year.

What? Zibanejad has 28 points in 45 while Zetterberg has 57 points in 69 on a much worse team, while being better defensively too. Going by this season I'm not sure Zibanejad bumps Backlund out of the 4th center spot either.

Saros and Raanta should both be picked with the way they're playing this season.

What if Marty St.Louis was willing to come out of retirement so he could finally be the first choice for Team Canada? He'll only be 42.

Are you joking?

Reinprecht is 41 years old. Ritchie was bad in SHL-2 and is retired. Paille, Parkes, Christensen and Clark? There is better options in NLA and KHL. Cory Murphy and Daine Todd is average in SHL. Morrisssonn is terrible in KHL.

Something like this is much better:

Justin Azevedo (KHL) - Gilbert Brule (KHL) - Brandon Kozun (KHL)
Matt Ellison (KHL) - Paul Szczechura (KHL) - Jonathan Cheechoo (KHL)
Rob Klinkhammer (KHL) - Greg Scott (KHL) - Dustin Jeffrey (NLA)
Nick Spaling (NLA) - Max Talbot (KHL) - Bud Holloway (SHL)

Chay Genoway (KHL) - Mat Robinson (KHL)
Chris Lee (KHL) - Cam Barker (KHL)
Maxim Noreau (NLA) - Jonathan Sigalet (SHL)

Danny Taylor (KHL)
Ben Scrivens (KHL)
Leland Irving (Liiga)

Stralman in for Klingberg if he bounces back next season.

Landeskog will bounce back in a big way next season, thst's my logic for choosing him despite this season's mediocre performsnces.

Sprinkle in the potential for a couple of AHL All-stars on minor league deals (Frattin? I don't know where that data would be available) and that team could compete in an NHL less Olympics

Absolutely, which is the reason why I would still definitely watch such tournament. Just to see such team would be interesting. They could also add some good juniors. If the olympics were this year, that team could have at least three or four - Patrick, Barzal, Dubois, Chabot - for example.

Well that sucks, NHL players are not going. I wonder if some players will still go..thoughts?

I think Ovi is the only one that is 100% sure he wants to go. Didnt he threaten to just leave the NHL if he couldnt go to IIHF WC once? LOL.

Karlsson said he would go no matter what, but he isnt Russian so... yeah.

I think thats the only players whos said anything, the rest have been very quiet about the whole thing. They will most likely hide behind the NHLPA
