Look dude Mcgreggor vs Diaz 2 git 1.6m+ and buddy thats only the beggining those numbers will only go up and up while most boxing matches will struggle to reach 600k-700k

McGregor cards get those numbers. The rest don't. Early reports have Jones/Cormier only drawing 600k, for a PPV with arguably the greatest* P4P fighter in UFC history. Miocic's last PPV only drew 300k. Shame, because both those cards at 1 million buy quality on them, IMO.

Great fight, was in Nevada for it and all bars didn't carry so I went to the casinos to watch

Well worth the price of admission, watching outside with 3000 other people

AND STILL!!!

This was good. Whether it was Floyd 'letting' him throw punches or not, Connor held his own for 8 rounds, and even won a few rounds. More than most were expecting.

And yeah hate to break it but this was the official death of boxing, I'm sorry for the purists but it will never, ever reach this much hype again. UFC/MMA on the other hand.....

Can't wait for that McGregor vs Diaz III. Will make them both 10 mil+ while also being a hell of a fight. Oh and the Nunes/Valentina fight, or Bisping/GSP ect...

-Personally I would pay a ****load to see McGregor given elbows as one extra weapon, nothing else. It would create chaos for Mayweather......especially if the ref didn't break up the clinch immediately like that, I've seen quite a few boxing matches and that was just ridiculous.

Ottawa unless it becomes a disaster
You guys are all so bitter, it was a fun show and something to watch. Hopefully they brought a lot of attention to the sport of boxing.

Ya, the hate is really bizarre.

It certainly wasn't the greatest fight in the world, but Connor did better than most expected, Mayweather did what he needed to do, and it was absolutely entertaining. Lord knows I've spent 100 bucks on worse.

Nice to see some logical thoughts and a voice of reason in this thread. Glad you enjoyed the fight ix. I did as well. Seems that the reaction is overwhelmingly positive on social media too.

And since street fights tend to last no more than a half a minute, Big John isn't needed to yell Work! Work!

It's such an insane approach anyways. To compare sports to a street fight. Street fights are not competitive sporting events. They're either robberies or drunk people trying to take a swing at each other cause one spilled a drink.

There's no such thing as "street fight" in some collective sense. It's Hollywood movie stuff and about as real as show wrestling.

Sure, but its hell of a lot closer to real life fight than boxing is, besides its way more exciting.

I watched UFC 1. Guy on all fours got a tooth punted out of his mouth. Then a bunch of guys couldn't continue, and it ended with a skinny Brazilian dude choking someone. Don't see any similarities to real fight there.

Drunk fights are hilarious to watch. Slow motion haymakers with no shot of connecting.

Because you're pumping up the UFC's tires like the redneck at the bar who wears an Affliction wife beater.

This kind of thinking is exactly why boxing is dying.Keep telliny yourself only rednecks with wifebeaters watch UFC and ill laugh as the viewership explodes for UFC and dwindles for boxing.

It was a tent pole and it didn't disappoint if you were anticipating a tent pole. Most knew what it was going to be. The Cult of Connor..maybe not so much.
