Haven't had cable or internet hear in wilmington for close to 2 days now. Yeah, I know, first world problems, but it's annoying as hell

This morning the storm reporter had only Wilmington and some Raleigh reports for our equipment, we lucked out on this side of the state.

Exciting day of ACC basketball. UNC with a close win over Pitt. Duke barely holds on over Maryland.

Oh, and State choked against Syracuse. Almost forgot to mention that one.:help:

Ok, I keep getting these ads for new inventory for "Volvo of the Triad".

That's great, but if I wanted a new Volvo, there's 3-4 dealerships in Charlotte so I think I'm ok.

Just bought tickets to see the Everblades play in Naples on March 7th & 8th against Gwinnett, when we're in FL visiting the in-laws. I'm kinda excited.

The Hockey News' way to get me to renew my subscription faster? By sending me a Team Canada disposable razor. Weird, but at least they didn't send me a pair of boxers like they did last time. I still don't know how they knew my size :scared:

At what point does Florida devolve into a Mad Max-like society, where anyone can kill anybody else for no reason whatsoever?

If I can be semi-serious for a minute. You ever get the feeling that you wish you could un-watch something?

I just sat through The Girl Next Door on a recommendation and I feel nauseated like you wouldn't believe.

Don't get me wrong, I love me some horror movies and am a huge fan, but that was just sick and the worst part is it's based off a true story. Sometimes I wish werewolves and vampires were real, because they wouldn't be able to hold a candle to real life humans :(

I thought you were talking about the movie where Mrs. Phaneuf is a porn star and was greatly confused.

It really does baffle me. With the recent ruling in the Dunn case, it appears that the courts have ruled that if you're going to shoot someone in Florida, you better make sure you kill them. Because killing an unarmed teen because the music in his SUV was took loud is apparently fine, but shooting at the three friends in the SUV as they fled? Well, then you get three counts of attempted murder.

I don't know a bunch about law. All I read was that the guy was acquitted of first degree murder and convicted of attempted murder. My only thought is, that the "lesser charges" (second degree, manslaughter) weren't included in the first degree murder charge. Otherwise it would seem to be a pretty open and shut case.

Too many times they over charge. But that discussion is for another section.

Too many times plea bargains are given unnecessarily.

That too.

Not to go too deep into things, but I think the line between self defense and murder can be difficult to figure out sometimes.

Person A attacks person B, person B can use self defense. Person A attacks person B, Person B gains the advantage, Person A can't defend.

Personally, I carry, I've had a chp for 10 years. I keep to myself and I am pacifist, but you mess with me or my loved ones, I won't have a problem using deadly force.

The problem with that is, the majority are too stupid to understand what legitimate threats are versus simply words. Hence all of these shootIngs that are completely pointless.

Yeah, pretty much this.

I trust some people with guns (family, friends I know well, the clearly smart, capable and sane). I don't trust everybody with guns.
