$10 says if he was a pick with 6 points and not -6, he wouldn't be waived.

I disagreed with Datsyuk's stance on issues.
Doesn't change what I think of him as a player.
Doesn't change what I think of him as a person - because I don't really have any views on him as a person, and don't really care to.
I'd take that bet. You don't typically waive a player you just signed for two years @ $10 million because he's off to slow start.

For the nth time, this isn't about his stance on the issues. He has a long history of issues on the ice and in the locker room. Comparing him to Datsyuk is false equivalency. It's not about conservative religious beliefs.

Apparently DeAngelo kept the puck from Miller’s first goal for himself.

Yzerman traded him two years after drafting him. I don't see him re-acquiring him, even it this situation was about his on-ice play only.

I'm the least cancel culture individual going but defending a guy with his past is hilarious to me. Deangelo wa sone of the best offensive dmen in the league last year, hes obviously a f***ed up human being for a rebuilding team to giv eup on him with his age and everything

Yikes, that story definitely changes my tune on this

I’d give it about a .01% chance that Stevie claims him
0%, because Chris isn't gonna dump $8M+ on a racist moron, especially considering where the team plays.

Rangers are gonna buy him out this summer, players under 26 can be bought out at 1/3 salary instead of 2/3.

wouldn't mind if the league just voided the contract and wasn't allowed to play anymore. he has had issues since junior
I don't think they have enough basis to void the contract, though I too would give the Rangers a free pass on this one. I don't think it much matters since the Rangers aren't going to the playoffs, and the buyout will be cheap since he's under 26.

On a particularly petty note, I remember a certain Rangers fan on this board arguing that DeAngelo and Larkin had roughly equivalent trade value this off-season.

Larkin may or may not be a 1C, but I don't see us waiving him any time soon.

I'll pass as well. Its one thing if you are a winner/contender and your bring a personality like that in the room who can be kept in check by the vets. For a team like ours that is young and struggling, someone like him could make that locker room hell.
