North Bay Fans: Are you a little surprised with the play of Colella in the first round? 6 points in 7 games, has he been moved to a different line?

Maybe someone with a better memory than mine can help out. Seems to me MoCo was farther down the lineup when he arrived. I believe he moved to LW on Mike Amadio's line when Daniil Vertiy was injured, and he has been there ever since.

He has fit in well and is certainly benefitting from Mike's amazing level of play.

he is playing top line with santos and amadio so not difficult to put up 6 pts in 7 games, should be more. he is a decent complementary player to amadio and santos but still very slow and a terrible puck handler.

2013-2014 - Barclay Goodrow & Smitty were worth the price of a ticket
2014-2015 - Nick Paul & Smitty were worth the price of a ticket
2015-2016 - Mike Amadio & Smitty are worth the price of a ticket
2016-2017 - will ANYBODY be worth the price of a ticket?

We will have plenty players that will be worth the price of a ticket next season. I am frankly tired of hearing this talk for the past three years. Each year one of our guys that has been developed from within rises to the occasion and leads the team. I have no doubt guys like McKenzie and Poirier will have big seasons offensively next year, Maybe not Amadio-like, but their offensive output will continue to rise. The young kids like Ball, Brazeau, Potts, Kislinger have progressed unbelievably thus far. Sure they make the odd mistake, but they are kids, 16/17 year old kids with exciting energy on the ice. We also have the most experienced coach in the CHL leading our team. Although I don't always personally agree with some decisions he makes who can argue with success? We all need to remember this is a development league. Yes some will go on and play in the show but the reality is the majority will go on in the real world at a regular 9-5 job like the rest of us. And one other thing, Goodrow, Paul, Amadio and Smith were all 17 at one time too. Look what they became within 3 short years. That's the beauty of having a team back in the Bay, we get to watch "kids" play and develop over 4 years in most cases Let's try our best to keep this team here for many years to come.

Troop Fan,
Sorry, cant agree with your post.
I dont see Porier or Mackenzie putting up big numbers next year, just not enough skill there.
As for development, well first you have to draft players that will turn out like Amadio or Paul, and we have all seen some major bust like 2nd round Sherman and Baird, and how about Green ? good god he couldnt skate.
Lastly, we have been blessed with Smith, who has won many games all on his own, and there is no tender in the pipeline with his ability.

I don't know about that. Brett's 17 and 18 year old seasons were basically the same as Nick Paul's #12 - at 17 -11g-21A =32pts at 18- 26g-27a-53pts
#21- at 17- 12g- 16a = 28 at 18- 26g 20a-46 pts. Not only that, but Mackenzie has never had a scoring winger. I wouldn't be one bit surprised if he put up 40-40 as a 19 year old.

I agree with that. He had some chemistry with Harland early on but was more concentrated on not getting run over by #11 on the LW. Brett needs to get more selfish and shoot more rather then look for the pass. He should get first line PP minutes too, so 35-40 goals is a real possibility.

Any chance Baird is back??

At today's workout, D Riley Bruce did not participate. He had what appeared to be some sort of brace on his right arm, from around the thumb and extending upwards part way to the elbow. If he can't go, it will be a major setback to lose a top-4 defender against an offensive juggernaut like Barrie.

He was moved to the top line right before amadio had his 5 goal game which colella had 3 assists on. Think he has fit in very well with that line where they have contributed at least 75% of the goals in the first series. Vertiy was taken off the line after the Niagara game, where he was put with hardland and hargrave than got injuired against Peterborough several games later.

im sure hes happier here than he was in hamilton where he had limited ice time and the coaches didnt believe in all there players, where it seems here stan has faith in playing all 4 lines

No need to worry, Bruce is expected to be in the line up. He is just nursing a hand injury he has been battling for the past couple months.

I'd agree that they need him healthy and playing well to have a chance against Barrie but he can still be a serious liability all over the ice. Hopefully the best of Bruce is yet to come though

Some things you should just keep to yourself instead of divulging injuries to opponents.
