There could be a few players who might not make it. Owen green was underwhelming last year and Calvin Gomes has barely played since the troops moved north

So I just read on the Batallion website Kyle Wood had hand surgery. Anyone hear any information on this? How long is he out for?

Quiet on the length of time Wood will be out. After looking at the 28 players left in camp, it looks like it's gonna be a long season of 1-0 hockey!! Not much offense that I see after Amadio and Bratina...Green, Gomes, Baird, hmmmm

i like the two sleepers on right wing...Brazeau and Perry look like they could be real good players.

Brady Lyle out 6 to 8 weeks with broken collar bone.

Unfortunate.

But from what I've seen, Shoemaker looks like he's a little more comfortable back there. He should be alright for spot duty. Shankar looks like he'll be a regular this year as well.

In terms of newcomers, Jacob Ball has one hell of a release on his wristshot. I wonder if there's a chance he squeaks into one of the extra forward spots.

Looks like Smitty is fighting like hell to not come back. Got a shut out today for the Rangers. Good for him, hope he gets signed.

Jake Smith

Jake made the cut from New York Rangers' prospects tournament and is now at main camp in NYC. He is one of 8 goalies and it looks like there are spots on 3 teams up for grabs (Rangers + AHL + ECHL). Jake and Brandon Halverson (SSM, OHL) are the only 2 of 8 without pro experience.

Good luck to Jake in his pursuit of a pro contract. However, if he ends up back here, I will be more than okay with it.

That's awesome.

Hopefully he goes in there and learns a ton from King Henrik.

And their depth in net isn't the greatest, so hopefully he opens some eyes and earns himself a pro contract.

Hey guys, some NYR fans and I were wondering what limited Bratina to 30 regular season games last year? I see he played in every PO game though. Thanks for any info. :)

Zac Bratina

From what I understand Zac's absence related to concussion issues sustained previously and during last season. I didn't see his name on the main camp list for the Rangers. Does anyone know if he might still be there or on his way back to North Bay?

Jake Smith

This is from the NY Rangers' website today:

New York Rangers General Manager Jeff Gorton announced today that the team has assigned 19 players from its Training Camp roster.

Twelve players that were assigned will report to Training Camp for the Rangers’ American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Hartford Wolf Pack: Calle Andersson, Kodie Curran, Cedrick Desjardins, Troy Donnay, Chris McCarthy, Chad Nehring, Josh Nicholls, Samuel Noreau, Mackenzie Skapski, Michael St. Croix, Nick Tarnasky, and Petr Zamorsky.

Six players that were assigned will report to their Junior teams: Ryan Gropp, Brandon Halverson, Keegan Iverson, Ryan Mantha, Brad Morrison, and Sergey Zborovskiy.

One player was released from his Tryout Agreement: Jacob Smith.

Presumably this means that Jake will be on his way back to North Bay.

Do you think Jake will be traded in a few months. If so, maybe need to start looking for a solid back up maybe a 97 or 98.

Smith will be moved at the trade deadline as Butler needs to recoup the boatload of draft picks he sent to get Moutrey this spring. Possibly Liberati as well.

4 OA's on roster

Does anybody know what is happening with Austin Kosack? There are currently 4 OA's listed on the Battalion roster, if they are keeping the other 3 (Smith, Santos, and Liberati) how can Kosack still be listed on the roster?

Brett Hargraves

I see that Hargraves has been released by the Attack. Perhaps we could use him?

Local kid with size and a former first rounder?

Seems like just what the doctor ordered.

Hopefully that shoulder injury hasn't completely derailed his career.
