Have to give a lot of credit to the new Director of Scouting Paul Castron who was hired by Shero when he took over as GM. You can see the focus go towards skill and speed almost overnight. The Devils to that point seemed stagnated under Conte.

It isn't surprising because Castron did a good job in Columbus before heading here.

Kid could flame out right now and it would still be a successful pick considering how rare it is for 6th rounders to do much of anything in the NHL

In the last 20 years, these are the only players to record one even strength, one power play, and one short handed goal in the first 2 games of the year.

Not to mention Bratt is the only one to ever do it on three consecutive shots at ANY point in the season in history

What ever he did during the summer, other players should take notice.

Yeah so far he looks like a top 5 pick for sure, but you just waiting for him to hit the wall and start to struggle big time. So far no sign of it, he really looks good out there, but consider he plays alot better now in NHL than he did in allsvenskan just a few months ago, there is a reason to believe that he will hit a major wall.

Was a treat to watch live tonight. I think he was the best Devils forward, and I don't think it was that close either. Especially in the first and second, he just took over some shifts. I'm continued to be baffled by how good this kid is.

I have yet to see him make the wrong decision with the puck. It's insane.

It's fine if he hits a wall. It's impressive he's even got a wall to hit when you look at how people perceived him when drafting and scouting him.

Exactly. 19 year old 6th round picks don't make the NHL. They definitely don't make the NHL and be an impact player in all three zones and all situations. That he has done both of these things speaks volumes about his potential, even if he hits a wall at some point.

So impressed by this kid, how was he not more hyped? Great speed, good hands, reads the game well, super slippery. Walking through defences with ease multiple times per game, every game.

He reminded me of Ehlers out there today. Though it's only one game. Very impressive performance tonight. Needs to be a lot more consistent with it (he's been great to start the year) to prove he's not a flash in the pan.

I thought Nico looked great as well, as he has been but Bratt to me was the most impressive prospect on the ice (just for tonight, don't think it holds up).

Including preseason this is the sixth game I've seen him play this year and every time he was at least one of the three best players on the ice if not the best, it's the craziest thing I have seen considering he came out of nowhere. Now while I don't think he will keep this up, I mean this is two points a game, I haven't seen anything that would suggest this won't hold up, I think he'll be a factor all season.
