Different team situation tho. On the surface Legwand should have been a really good rental for a playoff team.
Detroit fans hated that trade before he stunk it up.

I suppose, but 36P in 57GP in the AHL (prior to the trade) in his draft+4 season is hardly impressive. Benson just put up far better numbers in his draft+3 and I wouldn't consider him a highly rated prospect. Perhaps our definitions differ.Jarnkrok was still a highly rated prospect and Legwand sucked balls and was out of the NHL shortly after.
Just because Jarnkrok thought he was better than he was and didn't want to properly develop doesn't mean it was a good value trade. Detroit got hosed.
puljujarvi is obviously getting traded for sure, but that tweet is clearly an open message because he had terrible offers so far and trying to get the most out of it, it's gonna get at one point where he'll take the better offer even if in a vacuum it will hurt badly to have wasted a 4OV for the return you get
Byron and a 1st for Klefbom and puljujarvi?
I don't see how they are remotely similar, aside from the fact that they both play hockey. Trouba is one of the better defensemen in the NHL and Puljujarvi isn't far from being booted to Europe or the KHL.
When is JP getting traded? Cause he or his agent look like they are over playing their hand. He can be replaced, maybe with a better player for the qualifying offer amount. Signing an offer sheet has to be high enough for the Oilers not to match.puljujarvi is obviously getting traded for sure, but that tweet is clearly an open message because he had terrible offers so far and trying to get the most out of it, it's gonna get at one point where he'll take the better offer even if in a vacuum it will hurt badly to have wasted a 4OV for the return you get
Too lazy to look it up but is JP waiver exempt next year?

It is not a problem really, because any team who gets him will be playing him or they would not be trading for him.Nope and thats the problem. He will get claimed if he gets sent to the AHL.

His best decision would have been to keep this out of the public and play better. The Oilers would have moved him as soon as they could. Now the best place for him is playing in Europe, hopefully well.
Kudos to Jesse if that's his mindset. It may just cost him any hope of playing in the NHL though. What hand you are referring to? This looks more like "escape from edmonton at any cost".
Like I said, a blue dream lol. The Rangers could probably pull something off that Edmonton would bite at, but lots of other teams could offer a lot better. Love to have the kid though. Who knows, let's see if Gorton can pull another steal.Right, because the Oilers sorely need nearly 11 million dollars worth of utter mediocrity.
How in the world did you pull that out of Holland's answer?puljujarvi is obviously getting traded for sure, but that tweet is clearly an open message because he had terrible offers so far and trying to get the most out of it, it's gonna get at one point where he'll take the better offer even if in a vacuum it will hurt badly to have wasted a 4OV for the return you get
He will get traded.(in short order)...just holding onto his rights does nothing but increase the animosity between the two parties. Why do you think that? It's not like the team will miss him if he's not around. There won't be questions and distractions from the media asking if Jesse would have made the difference after any loses. Better to hold onto his rights if the team doesn't get any good offers.
Unless there's a deal that actually makes sense I doubt it. If Jesse refuses to play for the Oilers ever again why does any animosity matter? The team doesn't have to throw him away for scraps if that's all that's being offered. The player has much more to lose in terms of earning potential. He will get traded.(in short order)...just holding onto his rights does nothing but increase the animosity between the two parties.
He obviously has his reasons for wanting to leave the Oilers (there's obviously a terrible track record there for developing blue chip players).
