You don't know that. The late Mr. I could have made millions selling off the naming rights to JLA and yet he didn't.
Likely only because of optics. It would've looked really bad to remove the name of a Black sports icon from a Detroit arena just so he could replace it with some company.

Mr. I didn't hesitate to make the bait and switch with LCA.

as a staunch "no ads on uniforms" guy, i have to say this really isnt bad. i was expecting WAAAYYYY worse. i just wish they'd do ads on the pants instead of the jersey. oh well, more revenue means higher cap.

I'm also a bit perplexed how this jersey ad helps Priority. You kinda either have them in your area doing your waste or you don't, not like you're shopping around for a new garbage service.

Is this aimed at city officials in Michigan who make up contracts or something? Is it to increase their brand awareness in the state, because when you Google "Priority michigan" you have to scroll to the bottom to even find their website?

I'm just always a little confused by expensive ads blasted to millions of people that appear to only be targeting like a few thousand people.

I'm a real dummy in this area, so somebody help me understand (nobody say I'm a dummy in other areas or I'll ban you forever like I did @jaster ).

Ads on uniforms are always terrible. At least soccer always had the excuse that there's no commercials.

The "only cause of covid" was just an excuse to put them on in the first place. The NBA opened this tube of toothpaste and it's not going back in the tube.

Hoepfully it never gets to the point we're we're looking at a big ad instead of the logo like soccer or even worse start looking like a Nascar or Euro leagues.

I would never say something insensitive like that.

I just sent an email to my families season ticket person voicing our disappointment

We also need to keep drowning the socials like most fans are already doing

I know some of you don’t care. But for the ones that do, we need to try and have our voices heard. Who else can we contact?

The worst thing about this is that they moved the A and C to the other side

If they moved it to the left side, that is the only good thing about the change. The C and A on the left always looked better, AINEC!

I'd be okay with Pornhub or Only Fans logos.
I remember two board adds from a DEL team, one was for the famous Pasha Club(Freudenhaus) in Cologne, the next one for a divorcement lawyer side by side a good combination.

Edit: I don't like the adds, but in the end the players will get a part of this money not only the Illitch family.

Realistically speaking, what are you going to accomplish?

I mean they have already signed a contract with this company, probably worth tens of millions of dollars.

They aren’t going to take the patch off because some fans say they don’t like it, even if a lot of them do so. I’m sure from their end they are thinking “they’ll get used to it” like fans have with plastering companies logos on the boards and everywhere else possible in the arena.

Unless you are going to coordinate something amongst fans that would actually hit them where it hurts, their pocketbooks, there ain’t nothing you can do by sharing your opinion that you don’t like it.

I will never understand this either. I live in the DC area and when you listen to local radio out here, you always hear ads for like Gov't Contractors and stuff. To me they might as well be setting their money on fire, I can't think of a logical reason why Northrup Grumman needs to sponsor a college football bowl game other than they're just in love with themselves and it's just a status symbol.

Guys I have no idea. I’m just really really sad about it.

If we say and do nothing, there’s a 100% chance it stays. If we say and do something, there’s a 99% chance it stays

So I’m gonna hang on to that 1%

You're season ticket holders. The only "do" they care about is buying tickets. If you're not sad enough to not buy tickets... they don't care.

As others have stated, I'm sure they already expect short term backlash. If this is a cause you are truly passionate about, I would recommend organizing a sustained plan of widespread (peaceful) protest and/or financial action (awareness and persuading others to vote with their wallets).

Personally I don't happen to care. But this is likely the route needed to have any chance at affecting change.
